Has problems, but so far the best for carrying the most water (SEE EDIT)
EDIT: after a few months of use, I'm dropping my rating to 3 stars. Honestly this just isn't worth the money at all, and I'd recommend any cheap, adjustable belt with a zipper over this. Even two of those (which is how I often run) is better than this.I *really* wanted to like the FlipBelt. But the water bottles constantly fall out, the phone fits weird, my KEYS fell off of the (very poor-quality) plastic key clip (I'm really grateful I heard them hit the ground). And honestly you just can't adjust this thing...and there are no zippers, it's not waterproof...I don't really know what else to say. The concept is great, especially with the form-fitting bottles, but it doesn't deliver. My runs are so much better with just a cheap belt or two instead of this. The only way I can see this being the belt for you is if you absolutely must have 20+ ounces of water on your waist and don't need to carry phone/keys.Original review:I decided to write a comprehensive review for the FlipBelt, as I agonized and spent tons of time researching and trying other products before pulling the trigger here. Others may find my experience helpful. I have used the belt for three runs now--one 3mi, one 2.5mi, and one 6.5mi, in that order (I don't normally carry water on the shorter ones, and I don't need 11oz on the 6.5, but I carried it just for testing purposes). In my picture you'll see the FlipBelt with bottle on the left, and the other belts I talk about in my review on the right. My final thought (putting first so you don't have to read everything): while it's not perfect, no belt is in my experience. I give this five stars because it allows me to carry more water comfortably on a longer run, which is what's most important in my book and the reason I made this investment in the first place. On its own, without the special water bottle, this belt is not only too expensive, but I find it actually less functional than my other, cheaper, basic belts. If you need to carry many, many things while running, then maybe you'd feel differently. To the review:I have experience using two cheap, adjustable, single-pocket running belts prior to buying the FlipBelt, and I’m going to review here while sort of comparing to my experience(s) with those (see picture for what I’m comparing). Those belts were each 10 bucks and could carry a phone and a key *or* a very small, 6oz water bottle. If I all I need is my phone and a key, I take my favorite cheap belt. If I need to add 6oz water to a run, I add the second belt, and I keep the phone on one hip and the bottle on the other. I can also slip a granola bar or whatever in one of these belts no problem. That system works for me.Neither of those cheap options could do more than that in my experience. I tried a standard (16.9oz) bottle in the one that could even fit that, and no matter where I placed it on my hip or back, the bottle would bounce WAY too much. And I didn’t really have an option for something in between, but I suspect the same would be true if I tried. 6oz is really the max there in my experience. The factors that are important to me that I’ll be talking about: 1) fit, 2) feel, 3) water-holding capacity, 4) other notes. Here goes:1) FitSo, I *don’t* love that the FlipBelt isn’t adjustable. I realize that the design negates that possibility. But my waist size can fluctuate depending on time of year and/or what I’m doing fitness-wise, and I am always messing around with size on my other adjustable belts. Just feels better to me when I can dial in the size whenever I want. With the FlipBelt, if I need another size, I need to buy ANOTHER belt and hope it works.I wear pants with a 36in waist, and I bought the large (32”-35”) here, and I’m glad I did. Fits snugly. Still feels less comfortable than my other belts (a little bulky, a little tight-feeling), but it works.2) FeelI *need* my phone to be in a certain place on one hip, and I *need* my water so be in a certain place on my other hip in order to run comfortably. It’s a delicate balance for me, and it distracts and bothers me if the balance feels off. I appreciate in my other, two-belt system that I can get that perfect every time. The FlipBelt allows that—sort of. I have found so far that I spend the first ½-1 mile in a constant state of adjustment, trying to get the feel just right, moving the bottle and/or phone around the best I can until the balance feels right. It’s not a huge problem, but something I have to dial in as I go.On my first run, the water bottle (which I had to buy separately for another $10) actually fell out of the belt twice within the first mile. I’ve since learned how to get it stuck in there just-so, and it hasn’t happened since, but the fact that it happened at all shows me that the open-entry-point design does leave that possibility of things falling out, where a zipper-design would not.For me, putting the water bottle at the small of the back does NOT work. It was bouncy and unworkable. This could be a function of my waist size vs. the belt size, or just my body type, but it’s something to be aware of. If you and your body can make it work, I can say that this position is the most comfortable feeling while at rest and I kinda dream about it working someday for me. Just doesn’t work while running for me. On my hip, it’s totally fine, snug to my body, and no bounce. For me, that’s remarkable for 11oz of water. And the phone: it’s fine…my case (just a standard plastic/rubbery protective case) creates friction, which is probably a good thing for keeping it from falling out, but it makes it not super easy to get it in and out if I need to do that mid-run. My other cheap belt is easy, I just unzip and pull it out. This takes effort and logistical trickery, which I don’t love while trying to focus on the road, but it’s not a dealbreaker or anything. By the way, it’s an iPhone 7, nothing special. If I had a huge phone, this could be problematic.3) Water-holding capacityThis is why I bought the Flip-Belt, and it is really the ONLY function I truly like and prefer to other belts (but probably the MOST important). I wanted to be able to carry more water and still feel comfortable. I don’t like running with a hydration pack (for me, it’s fine for hiking, but I don’t like running that way), and I need that function in a belt. The bottle design is fantastic for the small of the back (which doesn’t work for me, but that may just be me). It’s fine for the hip. Not perfect (could use more curve for me), but 1000x better than any other water bottle. It slides in and out with ease. The cap opens and closes a little tough, but that’s actually probably good in that it won’t randomly open and leak water all over me. I like the bottle, I like that I can carry 11oz of water and still feel comfortable.4) Other notesThe little key clip thing is necessary in this belt, and I’m glad it has it. Otherwise, my key would go flying into a ditch because of the open entry points. It’s not water-resistant and soaks up moisture. Just a lot of fabric here. My other belts are mostly a utilitarian elastic strap with one pocket, and I have rarely (ever?) felt the need to wash them. This thing already needs a good wash.Cost: it’s an investment. Whatever. In the end, probably worth it if you need to carry more than 6oz water and you have at least one long run per week.Looks: it’s a cool-looking belt. Sleek and stylish.Overall, I'm happy with the purchase, but it was nearly $40 for the belt and water. I would NOT appreciate this belt without the water bottle. You can just get the same or actually better function elsewhere for a fraction of the cost. But the water option was important to me, and this really does do the trick.

This is a great product. I was skeptical of its effectiveness and value initially, but after fairly extensive use in a myriad of activities/situations, I can honestly say it was worth the money and a great buy.

I have used the FlipBelt in a range of activities, including "outdoor" and sports-activities (e.g. running, hiking, snowboarding, biking, and even swimming in pools and the ocean) and it's worked excellently. I've also used it when attending concerts, trade shows, and even a multi-day music festival- it's worked well in those situations also.

One use-case that I hadn't originally considered when I purchased the FlipBelt was "casual everyday use," though I've been particularly happy with the FlipBelt using it in that manner. To clarify, typically, I carry quite a few items around with me everyday (e.g. A full set of keys, two smartphones, a bunch of cards, maybe some cash, sometimes lip balm, and sometimes more). With the most comfortable clothing I own (or formal/dressy clothing for that matter), I simply can't carry those items (not well, anyway)- said items carry awkwardly, noisily, and sometimes uncomfortably. In addition, often-times, the outline of those items in my pockets looks terrible, and certainly stunts efforts of "trying to look nice or dress-up." With a FlipBelt, I literally wear whatever I want to wear- comfortable, classy, slimmer-fitting, no-pockets, loose and light, whatever- owning a FlipBelt, I can comfortably carry around any or all of the items I usually carry- bulky or not. (The FlipBelt is actually fairly inconspicuous, even when worn with "less forgiving" clothing, and it remains so for me, even when I'm using it to carry "all my stuff.")

After owning one for a while, the FlipBelt has easily worked its way into my regular wardrobe- its too convenient and common-sense an "accessory" to NOT use, at least for me anyway.

I no longer have to pick out an outfit for any activity based on how many pockets I'll need, or how much stuff I'll be carrying around. The FlipBelt stretches well to accommodate all manner of "cargo," and it holds it all well, in-place, without causing discomfort. A smartphone such as an iPhone 5s, for example, fits very easily, and an iPhone 6 or Samsung S5 or S6 fit also, though with a little stretching- it's still fairly easy to slide those phones into and out of the FlipBelt "pockets," however. I haven't tried a Samsung Note 4 or the iPhone 6L, but I have little doubt that those types of phones could be carried in a FlipBelt, though with those "phablets," there would obviously be a bit more stretching. Quickly removing or storing something like a Note 4 or a iPhone 6L (while wearing the FlipBelt) would be a little bit more cumbersome, too, I imagine, but certainly still do-able.

The built-in key-clip/lanyard is a fantastic feature, and it ensures that you won't lose your keys/key-chain, regardless of the activity you're doing. The clip is also very handy for things like work/resort/casino/hotel key-cards, access-cards, and discount-cards, provided they have some kind of hole punched through them or some other method of attachment. To me, it makes sense to punch a hole into most of my cards (away from any integrated security-chips or magnetic-strips) so that I could "key-chain them together," or otherwise secure them when necessary- the FlipBelt's key-clip/lanyard feature is quite nice for that purpose. The lanyard portion is also (for me) just the right length and "stretchiness"- it's not so short that you can't even get the keys out of the belt, and the lanyard length also happens to make it easier to "fish the keys out" of the FlipBelt, by pulling on the lanyard itself.

Even when carrying a bunch of items (like the example "cargo" I listed above), the FlipBelt is still surprisingly comfortable- the material it's made of breathes well, it's fairly durable and retains "stretchiness" well, it washes easily when necessary and whole belt dries relatively quickly when washed or taken swimming. Further, (as long as it's sized correctly) the FlipBelt feels almost invisible while worn directly against skin, or even when it's worn over other clothes.

The continuous "wrap-around" design of the FlipBelt's "pocket" allows for "adjusting" the placement of carried items without requiring that the belt be removed. The ability to "adjust" the placement and orientation of carried items throughout the FlipBelt's wrap-around pocket, and through its cloth, while still being worn, makes it easy to "flatten" a loaded-up FlipBelt for appearance and comfort purposes. It is due to this ability to "adjust" carried items that I find the FlipBelt able to stay relatively inconspicuous in many outfits, for many activities, and a wide-range of carrying-ability, all while being quite comfortable. To me, the ability to make said "adjustments" to carried items while the belt is still worn, is a critically-important design-aspect that should not be overlooked.

A Few Considerations:
I originally had reservations about the design of the FlipBelt, since it doesn't "come-apart" like a belt (there is no buckle, velcro, or zipper)- you don the FlipBelt by sliding it over your head and down your body, or the opposite-way- that seemed like an hassle to me at first; like it was a design-oversight, or a bean-counter eliminating features or some other cynical explanation.

In using the FlipBelt, I must say that it's design allows it to be light, comfortable, non-chaffing, easy to rotate-around your body, inconspicuous, and durable. I doubt, now, that having something like a buckle or zipper would have improved the design- in fact, I think it would have detracted quite a bit from my positive experience with the FlipBelt thus-far.

Even when considering the design of the FlipBelt's pocket-openings (there are four, evenly spaced around the belt, if I recall correctly)- they have no closing-mechanism; no zippers, no Velcro, no buckles, but the FlipBelt still contains all of my stuff well nonetheless. The explanation for this lies in the ability to store items into the wrap-around pocket of the FlipBelt, and then literally flipping the belt inside-out while wearing it- this faces the four pocket-openings of the FlipBelt snugly up against the wearer's body, thus preventing the FlipBelt's contents from falling-out (provided the belt is sized correctly to the wearer).

[Incidentally, I believe the suggested waist-sizes are relatively accurate, or at least it was in my case. I don't believe that FlipBelts should be considered to "run large" or "run small," but of course, your mileage may vary.]

[Disclaimer: I am not in any way whatsoever affiliated with or compensated-by either Amazon, any FlipBelt resellers, nor the FlipBelt manufacturer. I wrote this review of my own volition as an individual customer.]

I was looking for a way to keep my phone with me while working out. I knew about armbands, but really didn't like the idea of having my phone wrapped around my arm (just doesn't seem very comfortable to me). Plus, I didn't really want to end up with an armband tan if I used the armband outside. The only other thing I could think of was a fanny-pack type belt (attractive, eh?), or a belt made only for phones (meaning it couldn't hold anything else). While searching for something like that, I happened upon the FlipBelt.

The idea of the FlipBelt is fantastic. It has all the benefits of a fanny pack without the bulk and...well, let's face it, the fanny pack is just not something I want to invest in. The FlipBelt is snug, hides easily under the bottom of your shirt, and actually is attractive thanks to the slim profile and awesome colors. I have used it a few times while using the elliptical and doing other workouts, and it stays in place very well. My phone is VERY secure. If you're still concerned about the phone (or whatever else you put in it), you can flip it over (hence the name) and it will keep everything in place without having to worry.

Another big benefit of the FlipBelt is the fact that it can be used in situations other than working out/running. I see this coming in very handy for hiking, traveling, going to a concert, etc. It's discreet, safe, can hold a fair amount of stuff (phone, cash, credit card, key, etc.), and is comfortable. It is also easy to wash. I threw mine in the washing machine with similar clothes, and hung it to dry, and it is perfectly fine.

For sizing, I would recommend reading through reviews to find out what other people have ordered. If I had ordered based on the sizing chart, mine would have been too big to stay on well. I am 5'7" and weigh about 135, and ordered a small. A medium probably could work, too, if I wanted it a little less snug.

Bottom line - if you work out regularly and need a place to stash your phone/keys/money, stop searching and buy the FlipBelt.

I love this product. Ever since I began running, I found this product to suit my needs for storage. I run with my keys, phone and earbuds in a case. And it holds almost everything securely.

On my last run, my earbuds case ended up slipping out from the side and I gave it a good kick as it flew out. The case is a smooth and oval-shaped. And sometimes as I run, the position of this case will shift as I run and will ultimately slip out of it's pocket. Most of the time, I'll nail the positioning and it'll stay secure on my hip. But having that case slip out and hit the ground has been a fear of mine. Picking the case back up is a sudden stop. I run at a local park with bikers and other runners, so I worry that my earbuds falling out could create a really bad situation depending on the circumstances.

I stopped, picked up the case (which had no damage thankfully!) and stored it in my zipper pocket for my running shorts. 9 times out of 10 this isn't an issue during a run, but I know the possibility is there. So I occasionally touch my earbuds on my hip just to make sure they haven't fallen out while I run. It's one of those things that doesn't seem like it, but it's really distracting and takes me out of my zone. i do not have peace of mind as I run.

This isn't a knock at the product itself, but I will say it's enough of a problem to shift over to the zippered version.

Bad experience aside, it's form-fitting, very comfortable and stores my other items perfectly! I'd easily suggest it, but would offer my anecdote as to why one should consider getting the zipper version instead if you're going to purchase it.

What I do appreciate, is the fact that this running belt has opened up my wardrobe choices for running. I don't have to get zipper-pocket shorts and can buy gear that's thinner and more comfortable. It's a godsend for the colder weather where I prefer to wear tights.

I think for most use-cases the original version will suit your needs well.
