I got the Onanoff buddyphone for my sons kindergarten, recommended by a friend. She has hers for 3 years already and they are still nice. I was a bit skeptical why not to buy a cheaper one, as the school didn’t specify the brand and the ones from the school online purchasing system were sold cheap. But I am already very happy with my decision. I saw the other kids phones and they looked bad and terrible quality. My kids are not the delicate type, so I was happy by how durable the Onanoff seems. Also, it looks so cute, with all the different stickers. My son always hated headphones, but he was super happy when he got his. And his little brother was jealous. Now, I’ve got to buy another one. Also loved the fact that the sound was limited at 85dB as I know some kids that already lost part of the hearing ability from listening to loud music.

Beware: incompatible with Kindle Fire tablets

These seem ok, but I've got a couple issues..

The blue is very much purple, not blue. No big deal.

The "Standard" version of these uses a TRRS 3.5mm connector. This means it has an extra metal band (4 instead of 3) on the plug. This causes some compatibility problems. Amazon's Kindle Fire tablet does not work with TRRS headphones. That's more on Amazon than on these headphones, but there doesn't seem to be any reason to use a TRRS connector rather than a standard stereo connector - it's usually for a microphone and/or volume control, neither of which these headphones have.

Amazon tech support confirms that the Kindle Fire is incompatible with this.

Was really excited about these for my 3 year old toddler at first... she loved them, they were comfortable and kept the sound from getting too loud. We used these for maybe two months then the metal part of the plug broke off in the audio hole on her Kindle!!! She kept complaining that she couldn't hear her Kindle and I didn't understand why until I looked at the unplugged headphone cable and saw that it was broken, then looked at her Kindle and saw the broken bit still inside. Ugh, almost rendered our Kindle useless until my husband was able to gently get the broken bit out of the Kindle so that should could have sound again. I would NOT recommend these and will NOT buy again, total waste of money. This product is poorly designed considering it's made for little people to use and they are not always the most careful or gentle.

At first I thought these were great and my kids were so excited to use them. However, they do not work with the Kindle Fires, which was my reason for purchasing. (They work fine on my other devices). Shortly after buying them I received an email from the manufacturer acknowledging that the headphones were not working with kindle and to send a picture of them to get new pairs for replacement. I thought, awesome! But, they gave me no email to send the photos to. I had to find it myself through Amazon. When I sent the complaint, they told me no problem, please resend us the photos. And now, I've now sent these photos 4 times without a reply or new headphones sent. I bought the headphones for a trip and now have nothing usable. At first I was so pleased with the customer service. But, now I'm just frustrated that they can't be used with the kindles. And, I have nothing to replace them in time. And, the company is not replying to my emails. I will say they work fine with my iPad and iPhone. But, unfortunately, I need them primarily for the kindle.

Compared to other kids headphones available, Buddyphones seemed to be the best as they would protect my child's ears the best and the style is darling. We bought these headphones a month ago for our 3 children for the sake of a roadtrip. They are solid, the cord is long enough, the ears pads come off but can be put back on with ease. The volume is limited and so it is very low, but our kids listened to movies and music in the car, with the radio playing, and none of them mentioned difficulty hearing. We appreciate the limit to prevent them from blasting music in their ears.
