The G603 is a fairly small (around 4.9 x 2.7 inches) mouse that looks like it'd be equally at home with a desktop or a laptop setup. Although the mouse has neither a thumb rest nor textured sides, it does have an ergonomic design, with a gentle curve on the right side and a steeper curve on the left. The central gray panel on the mouse lifts up to reveal storage space for a wireless dongle, as well as two AA batteries. Unlike some of Logitech's other wireless mice, the G603 can't be used with a USB cable, so whatever you do, don't lose that tiny, tiny dongle!
The mouse has six programmable buttons: a left button, a right button, a clickable scroll wheel, a dots-per-inch (DPI) sensitivity adjuster just beneath that, and two thumb buttons. Everything is pretty much where it's supposed to be. There are also two buttons on the bottom of the mouse. One changes from the default power consumption to a low-power mode for productivity. The other shifts between dongle and Bluetooth connectivity.
So in short...
GOOD:
- Comfortable design
- Fair price
- Great wireless performance
- Fully programmable buttons using the Logitech software
- Bluetooth connectivity as well as regular wireless (with USB dongle)
- Use two AA batteries and not on board rechargeable battery
- USB dongle extension cable included
- Long battery life
NOT SO GOOD
- Use two AA batteries and not on board rechargeable battery (for those who prefer to have a rechargeable battery instead)
- Cannot be used connected to USB cable

1) TRUE WIRELESS; A lot of mice claim to be wireless but then you need a recharge cable or a mouse pad that needs a USB cable, so they do need a wire. Even a mouse that uses a QI charger technically needs a wire, not the G603. Two double A batteries and your off to the races. The battery life is outstanding with my replacing the battery 3 times every two years with constant use.
2) COMFORT; This is a bit subjective. I have medium to large hands and am a palm grip gamer. This mouse is a near perfect fit for me and after long gaming sessions I have no hand pain.
3) DURABILITY: As noted this mouse is almost 4 years old and still works perfectly. I have no issues with sticking buttons or sensor tracking. The scroll wheel is still working smoothly and while the appearance is a bit worn, this is a mouse that has seen a lot of use in almost 4 years.
Cons; okay sort of, these will be cons for some as I will note in each..
1) NO Lighting; Not sure why this matters to people as my hand covers my mouse so RGB on my mouse or any lighting to me means little. Plus by removing the lighting the battery life is extended. However if you want RGB this is not for you.
2) Weight; another issue I have never understood. Light mice feel flimsy to me and I feel a bit out of control, I like a heavy mouse. The two double A batteries do mean this is a heavier mouse but remember heavier is subjective, to me the weight is near perfect.
3) The Software; this is one area I wish Logitech would fix. The software is a bit intrusive on the system and does not give a decent battery level indicator. Basically, you know full, half and need a new battery. However, the battery life is LONG and there is an LED on the mouse to let you know when to swap batteries.
For my main gaming rig this is my go-to mouse and all I have used since I bought it, did I mention that was almost 4 years ago :-) I have a travel rig that I use a wired mouse on (wireless peripherals at a LAN event can be a mess) and I notice the switch, the cord feels like it limits my control a bit.
At the current price of around $50 I bought a spare for the day this mouse days, everything dies eventually, and it sits in its box unopened waiting for my need. I cannot stress enough if you want to try a wireless mouse, BUY ONE, at the current price they are amazing, and you might never go back to wired again.

The light on top is a nice RGB led, used for indicating DPI level, battery life, and performance/endurance mode. You can choose to install one or two AA batteries, since they're wired in parallel, adding two gives you longer battery life but heavy weight. It comes with Duracell OEM batteries (nice touch, Logitech, only company I've ever seen to not include crappy chinese weird batteries), I've been running on just one in performance mode since I got my mouse and it's still in the green battery life.
The entire grey section of the mouse is one piece that comes off, held on only by 3 neodymium magnets. That includes the mouse buttons themselves, they come off when you change the battery, which is weird, but it works fine, buttons always end up in the exact same position every time.
There's a switch on the button for off/endurance/performance (performance being the low latency mode, endurance being more like a regular wireless mouse), and another RGB LED indicating wifi/bluetooth mode, easily selectable with a bluetooth/wifi toggle button. At first the button didn't do anything for me unless I unplugged the RF receiver from the PC, I contacted Logitech support, they just told me to uninstall/reinstall Logitech Gaming Software, and sure enough that fixed it. Now I can instantly jump between using the mouse on my PC, and using it on my Android phone just by pressing the button on the bottom of my mouse.
I personally can't really tell the difference in latency on 60hz monitors, maybe on a 144hz monitor you could notice. But I run in performance mode anyway. I've seen the Linus video at the logitech labs, they have the proof that it is faster than even wired mice.
For some reason their manual recommends a distance between the mouse and the USB receiver as small as 20cm. That's tiny. I'm at about 150cm without issue, I'm not sure if they're suggesting for interference or latency.
The plastic is super smooth and silky, very nice, nothing feels cheap at all. The weight with one battery is perfect for me. The sensor is excellent. And where this mouse really shines is the plethora of customization options in the logitech software for nerds like me. It's the perfect "I want all the advanced mouse stuff, but I don't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money" mouse for any PC gamer.

Therefore I went ahead to get myself a Logitech G603. This mouse was everything I needed in terms of wireless function and battery life. Furthermore, the Logitech gaming software is fantastic. I'm able to program my two side buttons to keyboard functions, but with a click of the DPI button (which i have programmed to be G-Shift), I am able to perform other macros and function while holding down the DPI button.
Pros:
- Comfortable size, perfect for a palm grip user.
- No rubber sides (which means no wear and tear or accumulation of dirt)
- Long battery life
- Simple design with no distracting lights
- Fantastic wireless signal
Cons:
- Could use with a tad bit more tactile feedback on the scroll wheel
- DPI button is a bit mushy. Not sure if its the design or if its just my unit
Then I noticed that the cover where you put the batteries in came off very easily, like way too easily.
As you can see in this image the previous owner broke the clip that holds the mouse cover on and then returned it.
I also noticed that the bottom of the mouse has little scuffs and scratches on it. Confirming that it had been used.
Luckily it has weak magnets to hold it in place or it would not be useable.
Very disappointed to get a used and broken mouse from Amazon. Unfortunately I'm not in a position to be able to return it.
Otherwise if functions great.

The battery life, ergonomics, and performance of this mouse has otherwise been great. Good option if you don't care for all the bells and whistles of more expensive models.
