This is not my first echo show 8. I purchased a new one for my mother in 2021. She was very pleased and entertained with the device, as was I. The echo show allows you to watch, listen, and view almost any form of media. When connected to a smart home like mine, it allows for an easy, autonomous controller for the home. Alexa controls my home, it adjusts the temperature, controls lights, and starts my car. It is all connected. Most people are not comfortable with this idea because of security. Amazon has already addressed this and you don't have to worry, there is an adjustable switch to block the camera and two-factor authentication for account log in. I find it secure and have received no alerts of attempted logins from unauthorized devices.My reason for purchasing this Echo show 8 was for personal use.
