    Pros:
    Powerful CPU
    Excellent battery life
GPU is good for most video games until you get into more graphic demanding ones like Assassin's Creed, then you definitely see a hit. Overall I say it's quite solid.
The keyboard feels so nice to the touch, as does the track pad.
The screen is vibrant and the colors in it are balanaced

    Cons:
This laptop carries the problem of most slim laptops - heat. The fans get quite loud at times, but I've never had any real issues concerning overheating. Just know that this laptop normally runs at very hot temperatures when you do intense work.

There are only two USB ports, which for me personally makes hooking up my accessories a pick and choose endevour.

Overall this is hands down the best laptop I've owned. I would highly recommend.

Do not buy this laptop. I don't know if I will ultimately get it working, but even if I do, and even if its the best laptop in the world, it is simply unacceptable that within 5 minutes of using this laptop I immediately need tech support.. And I am NOT a tech newbie. I've been in tech industry for over a decade. I have multiple laptops running on the same network, all no issues and this thing, right out of the box, connects fine to the wifi, and yet can not open any websites. There is something seriously wrong with the configuraiton, bloatware, or network cards in this, such that even though all my othe devices can connect, this can not. And its not anythign simple like passwords, restarting, connection trenth, etc. It's something veyr messed up. Enough so that I KNOW, even if this problem gets sorted out, I am guaranteed to have issues down the wrong. It's the kind of red flag that I have learned enough over the years to listen to. I am returnign this thign ASAP. Also, battery lifem, even brand spankin new is not even close to what advertised. Also monitor angle is poor. If you use a roost or any sort of stand to elevate laptop screen, this won't work. The viewing angle is poor. It only opens about 95 degrees. Something I wish I knew in advance. For years I've avoided the big brands for this kind of crap. They spend all their money influsing influencers and reviews when their products are actually inferior. Thoguht I would finally give them another chance to see if anythign had changed, and I see it certainly has not. I could not be more frustrated with a $1500 purchase.

So I have owned 5 of these XPS laptops, dating back to 2014. The latest version had a bug, I'm not sure how wide spread it is. I haven't been able to find many instances of this bug. But, on some units, the battery just decides not to charge any more, after just a few months of use.

I don't want to give you the wrong impression, by any means. The quality of the laptop, the aluminum feel of the top lid, the carbon fiber top around the keyboard... Let me stop drooling over myself! Sorry.
The productivity, the office app speed, remote connect, WiFi... The vibrancy, resolution and touch screen of the display (if you go for that option) are just phenomenal! But, it leaves a bitter aftertaste when you purchase a $2k machine and after just a month, the battery refuses to charge and you need to have someone come out and fix it. Right? I hope I'm not alone in this thinking process.

I would gladly recommend a Lenovo laptop in the $1k price range, or a Samsung ultra portable if you want a MacBook Air replacement. But for business productivity and video and image editing, nothing beats this machine! I would recommend to anyone who is looking to be productive and doesn't want or spend extra money for same specs on a MacBook Pro!

I've had this computer for over a year now. I am quite happy with it. This is a top notch computer for color accuracy and it has a beautifully bright screen that you don't have to tilt at a certain angle to be able to watch a movie. The processing speed is great. Only 2 down sides for my particular needs: 1) No DVD drive and when I hook it up to an external DVD drive, I have to find some sort of app to play a DVD and none of the apps seem to perform very well. 2) No 10-key pad on the keyboard. I do a lot of 10-key work for accounting for my business so I have to use my old computer for that kind of work.
Also, note that this computer has a reputation for occasionally just not turning on when you press power. This has happened to me twice but after about 1/2 hour of doing everything I could think of, it finally got around to working when I held the power button down long enough. This computer also sometimes begin to overheat and the internal fan starts working hard to cool it down. I just shut down the computer until it cools and after a few minutes, turn it back on and it is fine.

My computer had been working fine and then all of a sudden overheated to the point where the bottom was too hot to touch, after owning it less then a year. It was still under warranty so I sent it in to the Dell repair center. They are HORRIBLE. They said nearly everything needed to be replaced and it was going to take 20 days for all the parts to come in. Who can go without a computer for 20 days? I figured since I spent this much on one of their nicer-end computers, and since it died in under a year, they would happily replace it for me. I WAS WRONG. Customer service was horrendous. Out of ten phone calls and being on hold 10 minutes each time, I was only able to connect with a human 1 time. Every other time it said no one was available to answer my call. Still don’t even know when I will receive my laptop back because no one answers.
Terrible product, terrible service, terrible company. I expected better, I was wrong.
