I used this to track my steps during the day and my sleep at night I have had it Since Sept 13 2021. A couple of nights ago it fell apart on me! I went to fitbit.com and chatted with a nice young man?? Named Edren... he issued me a new fitbit! After makin me jump through some hoops I am sure they are company policy - The picture I provide was not enough proof So they wanted the picture retaken with a case number hand written be side it??? I quickly went into my picture editing program and copied the case number into the jpg and sent it back to them but they said that wasn't good enough it had to be hand written on a piece of paper... really in this digital age??? But in the end I was a happy camper they are sending me a new fitbit... - Got my new fitbit So I upgraded my review from 2 stars to four stars - They didn't send a new band So I had to get on Amazon and order 3 new bands It seems to me the the band is actually the weakest part of the system!

First of all, the color was listed as Rosewood, which I took to be a red-brown , but is actually dark purple (eggplant). Fine, I wanted to use it right away, so I kept it. The bigger issue, is that I’ve only had it for 6 months and it’s broken already! I was walking and suddenly it fell off. I picked it up and discovered that the part of the fit bit that goes inside one end of the band had cracked in half. To make matters worse, when it hit the ground, the part that had cracked off inside the band was dislodged and I couldn’t find it in the dark. For over $120, I expect something to last longer than 6 months.
UPDATE (5/27/22)
I used my Fitbit app to contact customer service and explained my problem. The representative asked me to send a photo and within a few minutes was told I would be sent a new device! It was a very simple process and the rep was very courteous. It’s nice to know that there are still companies that stand behind their products!

I used my Fitbit app to contact customer service and explained my problem. The representative asked me to send a photo and within a few minutes was told I would be sent a new device! It was a very simple process and the rep was very courteous. It’s nice to know that there are still companies that stand behind their products!

This product does everything that it says it does and is very easy to use. The sleep tracking has been extremely beneficial, as have the customizable alarms that wake you up from light sleep so that it's easier to get up in the morning. The alarms are also nice because they work by vibrating, so there isn't a loud noise that would wake anyone you're living with. The heart rate monitor is fairly accurate, as is the pedometer and altimeter. The Active Zone tracking system was a great idea, and it makes it easy to tell how much quality exercise I'm getting in a week. The sedentary reminders are also really nice as someone who spends a lot of time at a desk. So far, everything has worked really well and with great accuracy, and it has helped me start getting in shape and start becoming healthier all-around using the breathing and mindfulness exercises. I would strongly recommend this watch to anyone who is looking to be healthier and doesn't know where to start, or who wants to track their current health, or who wants to track how they're responding to a new medication, etc. I love this watch, and it does a lot for the price. I almost bought the Inspire 2, but I'm glad I paid the extra money for all of the extra features on this watch.

I debated fitness trackers for awhile before replacing my old charge 2 with the charge 4. I've not been disappointed!
Pros: Accurate heart rate and sleep tracking (including oxygen level fluctuations), and I really like the Active Zone minutes feature, which tracks your cardio activity toward a goal each week. Plus, they have a good variety of programmed exercise options - I've tried boot camp, weights, walk, run, swimming, and kayaking ("outdoor exercise"), and they all tracked well. It syncs easily with your phone for notifications (or that can be turned off if you want to disconnect). I like that it has a button feature for control. Also, I have a small wrist, and I don't like anything bulky, so I appreciate the size.
Cons: It's hard to wake up the screen just by raising your arm (can take a really big arm swing and it doesn't always catch it without using the button), and if you're outside in full sunlight, the display is hard to see. I had also read enough reviews about the GPS draining that I decided to turn that feature off for walks or runs, though to be honest, that hasn't really bothered me, since it's still tracks distance and other stats like that without GPS. If I go for a longer hike, I'll just plan to turn it back on.
Overall, the charge 4 has the features I wanted without the ones I don't, and its smaller size means I can forget it's there when I'm not working out.

I primarily use the following features:
- Sleep tracking
- Step counting
- Tracking my Jogging (GPS/route tracking, time, Heart Rate, etc)

For the first two, it's all aces. Quite happy, though I don't always understand why it sometimes gets the more verbose sleep logging and others it doesn't. Step tracking is fine, though I mainly like the percentage circle (not micro-managing my steps).

The last one is why it loses some stars. I don't like having to deal with touch screen when I'm sweaty, it's unreliable. But the biggest irritation is that about 75% of the time, it won't connect to GPS and therefore doesn't accurately measure my route or distance and therefore doesn't have correct results. It's infuriating because I do the same route each time and sometimes it does, most times not, and I have no explanation why.

Other thoughts:
- Battery life is fine, no complaints
- The stock band is awful, I couldn't find a comfortable notch, but replaced with a stretchy one with variable sizes and it's sooo much better.

But the GPS issue is honestly one of the biggest reasons I didn't jump for the Charge 5, since my understanding is that the guts aren't much different. Your mileage may vary (if your GPS connects or not, hah).

This might be a weird review, but I just wanted to share that this watch works for all of you. MRI technologists out there. I work on a 3T magnet and have had this watch for 2 years. I never take it off at work and I've never had a problem with it working the way it's supposed to or charging.. It's got great features, and I'm really sad to see that Fitbit is probably not going to sell it for much longer.

I had the Fitbit Charge HR back in 2016. It was a weird "pill" shaped dohickie that slid into a rubber jacket cozy kind of wrist strap. This one seems to be an evolution of design for the strap. Likely they took into consideration the feedback from customers who had the old design and complained the wristband degraded after only a couple months of regular wear use.
This band feels comfortable and is not wearing out fast. But, it is also easy to replace too if it does.

I like how this has a GPS in it. I am able to track my walk and jogging now without needing to have runkeeper or some other app and a smartphone with me. I sort of prefer to just go out for exercise with a regular MP3 player and basic wired headphones, and not even bring the special and expensive smart phone with me right. So the GPS is a welcome nice feature that can give Garmin sport watches a run for their money.

Please note that I am writing this review after using the product for 18 months I bought this in Nov 2020 just after the warranty was over in Nov 2021 the GPS started malfunctioning , so only way I could use GPS is by connecting it to phone

Within few months the strap quality was so bad that it cracked I started using the larger strap within a few months that cracked as well . A month ago even before completing 18 months the battery started draining very badly . It would be full charged one moment and then it would be at 0 charge just 2 hours later.

So much that now the whole Fitbit is unusable and has no value . I have to now buy a new a new fitness band 14k investment gone to 0 in 18 months
