How long is the battery life?

The battery life depends on usage, model, and environment. Power is drawn from the Nextbase Click&Go mount while the car is on, but the battery activates during downtime or accidents. Inactive direct power triggers Intelligent Parking mode, conserving battery for G sensor surveillance for up to 2.5 weeks. If an event occurs, the battery wakes the Nextbase camera, capable of recording multiple incidents. It's not intended for standalone use like an action cam. Upon removal from direct power, the dash cam enters sleep mode, conserving battery for Intelligent Parking Mode. Adding the hardwire kit extends surveillance using the car’s battery.

Do I have to use a Nextbase SD card?

Our specially designed SD cards undergo rigorous testing to ensure compatibility and optimal performance. Equipped with wear leveling technology, our SD cards ensure that data is written evenly across the memory cells, enhancing durability and reliability. We recommend regular formatting every 2-3 weeks to further optimize SD card performance. Using non-Nextbase SD cards or neglecting regular formatting may lead to issues such as freezing, recording gaps, failures, or difficulty powering up. Additionally, non-Nextbase SD cards may struggle to cope with the write-speed and constant stress of continuous video recording loops.

How does the Dash Cam mount to the windshield?

Our dash cams come with a 3M Adhesives sticky pad, which securely attaches the Click&Go Mount to the windshield. Adhesive mounts have all be crash tested for maximum durability and safety, but please be aware that adhesive stickiness may be affected by hot climates. For best results, ensure your windshield is cleaned and dried using the provided pads before mounting. Suction cups are available for separate purchase.

    I've had several Dashcams... all cheap junk. This camera received top reviews by consumer reports.... it beat several cameras costing considerably more.

    My ONLY complaint is: The installation manual. It is one of those EU pictionary manuals which I hate. One step shows a piece of paper on the dash and a hand turning the lens. Initially I thought the camera required focusing... it took me several minutes of fooling around to realize that turning the polarizing filter eliminated reflections off of items you have on top of the dash of your car... pretty slick feature... except they never mention the purpose of the ring on the front of the camera.
    This camera is made in UK.... there's no reason for the crappy quick start pictorial. If your selling a product worldwide... provide a manual that Describes what's happening in the pictorial images. A small gripe as it does not affect the camera...which is excellent

    The new unit accepted the micro card perfectly (unlike the unit I returned) ... making me decide this is the unit for me.
    I cut up the camera box which had a complete description of the camera and listed listed all I would ever want to know about the unit. I also cut up the carton that the hard wire kit came in (which I also ordered)
    Like the info on the camera box, the hard wire kit box also contained valuable instructions (which I also wanted to save) ... including how to install. I put these now handy cut cardboard "info" panels into a nice small makeshift zippered case ... I put together to safely carry the camera, installation accessories, and cardboard panels (formerly part of the camera and hard wire cartons. THEN COMES THE BAD NEWS! I discover the so-called "MOTION ACTUATED PARKING MODE" was COMPLETELY OPPOSITE TO WHAT WAS DESCRIBED BY NEXTBASE! It was SHOCK ACTUATED! MOTION ACTUATED AND SHOCK ACTUATED ARE TWO-DIFFERENT-ANIMALS!! This unit, WHILE IN "PARKING MODE" begins to record 9.5 seconds AFTER MY CAR IS IMPACTED BY ANOTHER CAR ... THAT MAKES IT USELESS TO ME ... ESPECIALLY WHEN I'M PARKED IN MY GARAGE, WHEN PARKING MODE IS MOST IMPORTANT! ... I'm ordering a different dashcam from a different manufacturer. ONE that begins to record movement BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER IMPACT ...
    NOT 10 SECONDS AFTER THE HIT-AND-RUN DRIVER HAS ABSCONDED!!
    Now to see about sending this Nextbase dashcam back without its factory carton!

    I have the add on rear camera and hard wired kit.
    I was rear ended and the driver drove off. Replacement rear bumper, sensor re-alignment and labor was over $2,000!     The operation and function of the camera is very good. High quality, easy to setup and use. However, the mount attaches to the front on one side of the unit. Within 2 months the mounting tape deformed allowing it to hang at an angle. Did I mention the mount has NO rotating adjustment? You can tilt it up and down and turn it to face left and right, but you CANNOT rotate it. So once the adhesive foam allowed it to rotate (because all the weight is on one side of the mount) you are stuck with a crooked camera and picture.

    Works really well. Great features and video. Some issues with the live view functioning on my iPhone with cellular service enabled. In airplane mode it worked fine. Worked flawlessly on my non-cellphone iPad. Downloading clips and viewing them worked fine with cellular service on. Not really sure I would ever need to be viewing the live feed anyway on my phone.

    This was supposed to be new, but I think I was given a used one. Had a few missing items, but wasn't going to use those items anyways. Installed like I did the rest of the ones I own.
    Picture is good, but several times, it will just stop recording and when I try to click on record icon, it'll just freeze and needs to be reset. Also, sometimes shows it's recording 20 minutes, even though max is 3 minutes. Hit stop, review video and shows no video was even taken after the initial 2 minutes of driving. Several times stopped recording and then starts back up on its own. Reviewed a whole 1hr
    trip and only 36 of the 60 minutes recorded and there were gaps in recording

    So, what they don't tell you is there's a glitch. This glitch has been around for years and Nextbase has not fixed the issue. If you wish to use "live view" in the Nextbase app, you will have to disable "Cell Data" in Iphone settings. If you don't disable cell data, you will see a black screen instead of the actual live view. If you disable cell data on your iphone, obviously you'll not be able to make phone calls, use your phone as a hot spot or use Apple Car Play. Not a total show stopper if the other attributes of the phone are what you're after but it would be handy under certain circumstances to have the live view. Just another example of a company selling a product that almost works while they use the consumer as Beta Testers.

Dans mon cas, ce module arrière a été retourné chez Amazon. De façon générale, pour être efficace, la dashcam arrière doit être fixée sur la lunette arrière obligeant alors à tirer un câble vers la dashcam avant. Pas pratique.
    Pour cette dashcam avant, montage très facile et surtout, elle peut être facilement retirée de son support grâce aux connecteurs aimantés. Pas besoin du filtre polarisant supplémentaire car déjà intégré sur la dashcam.
    Par ailleurs, très bonne application sur mobile (iPhone) et très bon player sur iMac.
    Du point de vue montage du fil d'alimentation de la dashcam, dans certaines voitures il n'est pas possible de glisser un fil dans les garnitures, d'où l'emploi de petits clips trouvés sur Amazon.
    Bonne qualité d'enregistrement et commandes simples compatibles Alexa.
    Également, le support technique Nextbase répond toujours aux questions posées.
