Preface: I bought this controller to replace my old xbox 360 controller for PC gaming.
Packaging: The box looked as if it were opened. A bit weird, but okay.
Problems: Initially, the controller kept turning on and off, wouldn't connect properly and constantly shown to have low batteries ("critical" according to the Xbox game bar app...) despite having brand new ones put in. This is still an issue, but the battery is actually fine so I blame the Xbox game bar application for not sensing it right.
On top of this issue, the button inputs for "A" and "B" were confused for keyboard inputs during in-game sessions (on Steam).
Troubleshooting: I tested the controller via Xbox accessories app to make sure the inputs were working fine, and they were.
Going to video guides and various forums I found out the battery problem was possibly caused by the clip bits that have the "+" and "-" signs on them being a bit too compressed, and gently pulling them out (to make sure they were holding the batteries securely and properly connected).
As for the keyboard-gamepad input confusion, I went into Steam's settings and had to select the "Expanded Xbox Configuration support" and "Xbox Extended Feature Support" and subsequently had to restart my PC. After that, controller worked like a charm, and I am loving it.
It was a bit taxing to do so much troubleshooting, I took the whole thing apart three times to check the motherboard against google images to make sure it was okay (haha). But in the end most of the issues had nothing to do with the controller, but just how it was being perceived by other programs. Just goes to show the issues may not be with the product but the stuff it interacts with.

With somewhere between a conservative 3-500 hrs of use I've not noticed any issue with stick drift. nor development of any dead-zone. The controllers' primary function featured it being used as a controller for Assetto Corsa & Assetto Corsa Competizone.
The Microsoft box it arrives in, makes a very useful storage container when not using the controller for protracted periods of time. Particularly when wanting to avoid placing undue stress on the controller sticks and the potentiometers they sit within. It's great for storing the controller in something it can be equally safely transported in or put away in a drawer.
Compared to an OEM/Microsoft 360 Wired for PC controller, there is an adjustment period. Both for the precise size of the controller if you have large hands, - as well as the sensitivity of the XYAB buttons. If you are used to a feather touch response with these buttons, they may seem initially problematic. Yet the application of a bit more pressure, or a more directed, if gentle, assertive touch generally assures the desired response. Otherwise, coming from an Xbox 360 controller, the controller is a little smaller in over all size.
Having used a MS 360 / OEM controller for 5-6yrs with several thousand hours of use and never encountering any stick drift, - the eye opening revelation that it's a thing with more modern controllers -be they Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo sourced was both surprising as much as concerning. Yet this particular model has worked flawlessly. Conversely, in the interest of transparency, I have generally used it as a fine control instrument, never dropping, treating it roughly or exerting particularly violent forces on any of its buttons and controller sticks.
Edit: Jan 2024.
No issues, drift or problems to report. Use of the controller remains faultless. The controller is stored when not in use covered in such a way as to restrict any dust or dirt ingress. While very acclimated to its size at this point, - I miss the size of the original 360 controller which was slightly larger. Equally, it's clear that the plastic it's made with while grippy, is a touch brittle/fragile. Do any of these gripes earn the controller a lower over all rating? No. The controller is good. It just needs to be handled with care, and kept clean/out of dusty environments when not in use. The box it came in is great for this, a cloth draped over it, or I imagine any other portable carrying case with a seal or zipper.
