Doodle- Welcome upgrade from the last model
Faster processor better quality/more durable screen than the previous model. The case for the "bigger kids" version is more slimline. In the video I show how the button covers for volume and power are not static, so taking the case off requires you to pay special attention to them and they have to be seated just so, in order for everything to be flush. This case does have cutouts on top that makes it easier to remove the kindle for cleaning. Same exact specifications for the kids edition as the adults, so if you're wanting to get into the technical side of things, take a look at the reviews on that one. This had several more steps during set up as compared to the others but we still got to the same place. As in the video if your kids profile is set up but not showing on the menu, select manage profiles, pick the kid you want to manage, then scroll down to "show profile on lock screen" and make sure that is ticked orange. This plays roblox and minecraft, YouTube, among us, all the things on the adult side of the profile. The more child like ones are available on the kids side without in app purchases, fully unlocked. There's also tons of books available over there. Id like to clarify saying the kids side does not save progress- It does but it does not carry over progress from previous device. So you will be starting over in games when you first start using this one, vs picking up where you left off on your other device. There was was point of contention with the last release about the screen, when pushing on the lcd you could clearly see the waves from the pressure; That is not an issue with this one as I pressed down fairly hard and there was no give what so ever. As with all Kindles this one comes with a 2 year replacement guarantee, no matter what's happened to it, you get 2 replacements total if needed. All you've gotta do is call Amazon and say its broken and you need to use a replacement.. super easy and painless process- Do not send the case or any chargers to them, just the kindle. You'll receive a replacement Kindle only in return. Very happy with this one as it's a welcome upgrade from last year, and with the case, year of freetime subscription, and 2 year replacement guarantee, it is always my go to when purchasing for kids. Def worth the extra price vs piecing everything out, but I removed a star for the button covers. My kids tiny fingers could probably get in there if we ever lost them, but I believe Amazon should have designed them/the case better to where they would not come out so easily.
