I bought my Lenovo Duet 3 Chromebook several weeks ago and have been exploring its' capabilities since. Despite understanding the limitation on the display for this device that required a USI 2.0 pen and thinking I had found one, I was disappointed to find that it didn't work. Further research seemed to indicate that there was only one USI 2.0 pen on the market (this item, the LenovoUSI Pen 2) and it was out of stock on both the Lenovo store and Amazon. I received my pen today and can confirm that it works brilliantly.

The accuracy and speed seem to be very good. I had little delay when testing cursive writing and drawing as well. The pressure sensitivity allows pencil drawings to be lightweight when little pressure is applied and heavyweight when higher pressure is applied. The palm recognition can take a little getting used to, but I am literally minutes into using the pen, so I'm sure it will become second nature. And the issue is nothing major, simply if the pen is lifted more than an inch or two from the screen, my palm would be interpreted as a touch and move the image. Happy note taking, drawing, and annotating fellow Duet 3 owners.

***************************************UPDATE 6/20/22********************************************

It's been a month of using this stylus and I'm still enjoying it. By now, I have indeed experienced the issue of hypersensitivity with regards to the nib (the stylus registering marks even though it's still about 1-2 cm away from the screen). It's happened about 4-5 times so far in the last 30 days. The good news is it's a very easy fix -- just remove the battery, reinsert it and the stylus will go back to normal.

As for battery life, I'm still using the original battery with about 1-3 hours of daily usage for the last month. So the battery life thus far has matched my expectations.

***************************************************************************************************************

Seeing all the negative 1-star reviews, I decided to put in my 2 cents. I've been using this stylus for a total of about 40 hours now and I have to say -- it's well worth the money. With regards to the more popular styluses (Surface Pen, Apple Pencil, Samsung S-Pen) it offers near-parallel quality in terms of writing and lack of latency, although it doesn't offer some of their features (buttons on the stylus or an eraser feature). But at 1/2 to 1/3 of the cost of those others, the value is obvious and quite understated.

Now the caveats. The latency will greatly depend on the app you're using. For note taking, PDF marking, and light drawing I use "Squid" and the latency is virtually nonexistent. For more intricate drawing, I use "Concepts," "Click Studio" and "Sketchbook by Autodesk." The latency on Sketchbook is noticeable (though not inhibiting), but Concepts and Click Studio have the same negligible latency as Squid. These applications make this stylus a dream to work with.

The quality of writing will depend on the cleanliness of your screen. I found that if my screen is SUPER clean, it causes friction on the nib and makes for a very rough feel as I write. But if my screen is too inundated with smudges and fingerprints, then the nib doesn't make very good contact and skips a beat or two, causing broken lines. So I've taken to gently cleaning my screen with a microfiber cloth, but not using any cleaning solutions. This allows the nib to flow very smoothly across the screen, akin to a well working ballpoint pen.

The palm rejection is great, but not perfect. After testing this on numerous apps, I think the palm rejection is related to the app being used just as much as the stylus itself. On "OneNote," the palm rejection is fairly bad. The stylus registers and makes the intended marks, but dots also keep showing up where my palm was resting. The same dots appear on most of my other apps as well, but not nearly as frequently as with OneNote. But so far the palm rejection on Squid, Concepts, Click Studio and Sketchbook has been fantastic. So overall, I'd say Lenovo still needs to work on improving the palm rejection on this stylus, but it certainly isn't a deal-breaker except for perhaps the most nitpicking of users.

And lastly, I believe all the reviews regarding the hypersensitivity of the stylus (causing it to make marks while the nib is still a centimeter away) may be due to the Chromebook they're using. I've noticed every single one of those reviews was written by people using this stylus on the Lenovo Duet. It may be that the screen on that Chromebook reacts poorly with the stylus. I use the stylus with my Lenovo Flex 5i (and again, I've had absolutely zero issues regarding hypersensitivity and unwanted marks). With that said, my positive experience may also be because Lenovo has fixed the issue. I noticed the nib on my stylus is rather pronounced, hanging about 1/2 centimeter below the tip of the stylus (as opposed to the nib being flush with the tip of stylus like the pictures show). So perhaps Lenovo, since seeing/hearing about the hypersensitivity issue, has replaced all the nibs with these new ones and has resolved that problem.

Whatever the case, I've had nothing but a 95% positive experience with this stylus. It's relatively cheap. It feels good to hold. It writes very smoothly with excellent pressure sensitivity. And there is no hypersensitivity as written by many others a year ago.

Well worth the $35 in this Chromebooker's opinion.

This one has very bad palm rejection. There's no problem if I don't put my palm(grip) on the screen but I have to for my writing. And, with the palm, I see frequently the stylus is not working with my Lenovo duet 3 chromebook and Pixel Tablet. I have Penoval USI 2.0 and Amazon USI. They are just working fine even with palm on the screen.

I liked this stylus alot. I was surprised how much I liked the feel when writing in Google Keep. It "just worked" with my Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5i chromebook.. However, it didn't appear to be compatible with a brand-new Lenovo M10 plus (3rd gen) tablet. The tablet didn't seem to recognize it at all. I returned both stylus and tablet, as I didn't have an urgent need for either.

I bought for my Lenovo flex 5i - 13 inch - core i3 - 2 in 1 - Chromebook/laptop. its frustrating to use in my squid app. pen is hyper sensitive. Itʻll start marking the page before contact is made with the screen. palm rejection malfunctions from time to time. causes the app to glitch out and freeze. at first i thought it was the laptop, but it only does this when im trying to use the pen. laptop mode and tablet mode responds to my fingers when squid app is freaking out, but unresponsive to the pen. too many bugs in this pen. heard that aftermarket active pens may work better. gonna try some of these other brands on amazon and see if i get better results. if i find a good one, ill update the review with links ;)

***UPDATE: get the USI pen by PENOVAL, it’s super awesome! Has USB-C input for charging. Top of pen functions as an eraser (super convenient/saves time). No glitching! and if it does, just back out of the app. And reopen. Pen feels good in your hand. Has weight to it. Writes very smooth. High quality for sure. Way better than Lenovo’s USI pen.
