Bad engineering! No spare parts! Lasted only for 6 years!

I will never have an Electrolux dishwasher again! The reasons:
1. You can't find simple parts like door seals and hinge brackets. For example, the door bottom seal is not sold separately (~$25). You would need to buy the whole door liner for $350.
2. The metal brackets attached to the hinges rust too fast! In 6 years I got it completely corroded, so it started leaking at the door bottom. Both detachable metal brackets need to be replaced to stop the leak but you won't find this part.
3. Electronics periodically get into a glitch. The display indication periodically won't come up. The power cycling helps to reboot the internal microcontroller and get it working again. We dealt with this issue for 6 years pretty much on weekly basis.
4. The dishwasher has a touch control panel which is nice but the internal speaker is very quiet, you'd need to put your ear close to the door to hear it.

OVERALL IT'S ALL BAD ENGINEERING! STAY AWAY FROM ELECTROLUX DISHWASHERS! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Electrolux EI24ID50QS Built-In Dishwasher with IQ Touch Controls, 24-Inch, Stainless Steel This has been disappointing, to say the least. We had the dishwasher professionally installed, and ran a test cycle. A little more than half way through the cycle, it beeped and gave an error message. I called customer service number and spent two hours in the circle of hell known as voicemail carousel, cut-off, call back, runaround, "try this number instead," and so on. Finally got a repairman out, twice now, and it still has not run through a complete cycle without shutting down with an error message. It has now been 3 weeks since we bought it, and nearly 2 weeks since we had it installed, and we still do not have a working dishwasher. Update: After the backordered parts were installed, it immediately sprung another leak before finishing a load of dishes. More parts have been backordered. It has now been 46 days since I ordered this, and it has never run through a cycle. Electrolux has refused to refund, but Amazon is considering making an exception to their 30 day return policy since the backordered parts kept me waiting.

People only seem to write reviews about appliances when they're not working, so I decided to listen to reviewed.com and buy this machine even though a lot of people complain about it not working. Well, I should have listened.

The control panel arrived shot. Only one button worked. After a month, it's gotten a little better - we can usually select the cycle we want, if we stand there and tap the screen enough times. The repair man has come twice to replace it with a new panel, and twice the new panel has been worse than the original. This time (the third visit), he called Electrolux who told him that last year, they had a manufacturing problem and shipped batches of this faulty panel. They say they've fixed the problem, but the faulty panels are clearly still circulating.

The thing washes dishes fine, but it doesn't seem to be a miracle worker like review.com claims. If it's got the right features for you, maybe hold off for a few more months until the faulty control panels are out of circulation.

These look fantastic and perform just wonderfully in my gourmet kitchen. Even if price is no object, trust me these are the dishwashers you want in your (Mc) mansion! They can even wash a load in 34 minutes! I wish I could rate these 10 stars! Buy one or two ASAP! You won't be disappointed.

I had low expectations for this dishwasher based on the sordid reviews, but after two months of ownership I don't have a single gripe. I'm guessing the control board quality problem was fixed.

My dishes get clean and it's extremely quiet. The silverware tray is fantastic. I can put all my flatware on top and have a ton of room for pots and pans in the bottom. It took some time to figure out the best way to load, but I'm a pro at getting everything in now.

The bottle washers are a bit cheesy. My baby bottles get mostly clean but the clips themselves have a cheap feel and they are too close together to arrange the bottles side by side (Tommy tippee). More trouble getting them on the clips than it's worth.

One star off for racks not rolling as smoothly as some competitors and the chincy bottle wash feature already explained.

I asked for purchasing advice from my appliance repair guy and he said it was a good choice - he has no more or fewer service calls for this than any other. He said all appliances are going to break. They don't last 20 years anymore. The trick is to buy a brand that has inexpensive and readily available replacement parts. He also explained that many performance problems we encounter with today's dishwashers have more to do with epa regulations than the actual appliance. He suggested throwing in a cup of vinegar every fifth wash and running a an empty cycle with just one cup filled with vinegar in each corner once a month. So far so good.

Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase and feel I got good value for my money. I would recommend to friends and family.

Doesn't dry dishes at all. Even on the "extra dry" option. Complete garbage. My $200 dishwasher does a better job. This is a fancy paperweight.
