Straight out of the box, these filters are a tiny bit small and that causes a problem when pressing. But the remedy is simple. While pressing the center of the filter with one thumb, I run warm water over it while running my other thumb from the center outward.

These match the ones that come in the box. That said, they're the same paper stock as the ones for the standard Aeropress. Given the larger diameter (larger area) and greater height (more pressure) they're the wrong paper for the XL. Too much brew water comes through before I can get the plunger in place and lift a bit. Bright side: I only wanted a bigger Aeropress in order to be able to brew 400ml at a time - and the XL can do that and a bit more inverted with the plunger at the '8' mark (plenty secure). So I've switched to inverted method for the XL. I resisted going inverted with the standard Aeropress so maybe this is a good thing?

These filters fit and work very well except that top and bottom of the shrink wrapped stack are 2 to 3 dozen filters that have their edges rolled up (if on bottom) or down (if on top) by the unnecessary and counterproductive tight shrink wrap. That makes filter separation a bit fiddlier than need be and causes the filters with the crooked edge along along the perimeter to fit so loosely in the Xl’s filter holder that if attaching it with the filter to a side it could happen that it does not center as the edge is forced to flatten out in screwing the holder on the barrel and your brew leaks excessive on one side. Remedy by centering carefully or better yet, wet the filter (in or out of the holder (otherwise unnecessary).The wetting flattens the rolled edge nicely and it cam be manipulated to be nicely centered that way with no gap at the edge:
AEROPRESS: please consider to not shrink wrap at all and if you need to wrap the 200 piece batches in plastic, make it a loose baggy instead and that isdue is gone.
