This Vacuum is a game changer!

This Vacuum is a game changer!
UPDATE:Lowering my review to 4 stars for one reason: the vacuum has trouble returning to the dock and sometimes ends up not docking, not charging, or not emptying. It’s inconsistent but happens regularly. I have tried clearly the map and that helps some.I have had several robot vacuums over the years including a cheap $99 “dumb” robot vacuum, Roborock, and Roomba. I needed another vacuum that mopped now that I have hardwood and tile and a second floor. I did a TON of research and landed on the Deebot N10+. I have been using it for about 2 weeks now and it has been amazing! I absolutely recommend it if it’s in your budget.QUICK SUMMARYPROS:* Quiet even on boost suction* Extremely high suction* Large water tank for mopping* Auto emptying works well* Picks up pet hair without brush tangling* Mapping works very well* Able to mark no-mop areas like rugs* Able to go weeks without having to emptyCONS:* Auto emptying is loud* Must buy replacement bags* No extra mop pad in the boxDETAILED REVIEWI have two dogs (Siberian husky and a Heeler) that shed a ton of dog hair. Vacuuming everyday is required but not an option for me time-wise. Between that and normal dirt I have the robot vacuum scheduled to run twice a day. This robot vacuum does a great job in every important aspect, from the obvious vacuuming and mopping to ease of setup and a user friendly app.SETUPIt was incredibly easy. Out of the box the only thing I had to do (besides remove the plastic) was screw on the two side brushes, and attach the vacuum bag. (The cord and everything else was already out together.) After that I opened the lid of the vacuum and scanned the QR code to download the app and followed instructions to finish setting up.APPThe app is not only easy to use, it has some really neat features that set it a tier above other robot vacuum apps. The vacuum runs an initial mapping run, then actually identified separate rooms automatically (on roborock and roomba you have to manually split rooms by drawing) and allows you to easily name, merge, or split them. Scheduling allows you to set “do not disturb” time to avoid running late at night, the order the rooms are cleaned in, continue cleaning after recharging if the battery is low, and even set the suction level and mopping level room by room. It has options for no-go zones, no-mop zones, etc. You can also set reminders to replace the mop cloth, empty the bin, and replace filters, etc.Important note:The app recommends how often to empty the vacuum based on your floors and dirt level. I ignored this at first and the bin was so packed with dirt and hair that it had trouble emptying. After choosing “every 20 minutes for areas with lots of pet hair” I haven’t had a single issue since. The vacuuming is absolutely perfect. I’m not sure what else to say. It’s about 2x quieter than my Roborock S5, never misses a spot, and clean my entire house on one charge. I noticed a few places it got stuck and simply set up a marker to avoid that area. The mopping is pretty good and has the largest water tank I’ve seen for a robot vacuum (3x bigger than my roborock.) It detects when the mop is attached and adjust the cleaning accordingly (avoiding no mop zones.) it won’t scrub your floors obviously, but keeps them clean in between deep cleans. I’ve found it’s especially great for rainy days when my pups track in water or dirt through the doggy door.I keep discovering new little settings and features that add to how much I like this vacuum. I’m more impressed with it the more I use it.

Top reviews from the United States

Reviewed in the United States on July 25, 2018
We live in a large restored antebellum home that was designed and constructed in a very compartmentalized manner. The home is 90+% solid hardwood flooring with the remainder sealed brick, tile, and short nap rugs. Each room has a 6-8 inch wide bevel-sided 1 inch high wood threshold divider at each of its doorways. We resisted buying a robot vacuum as we were unsure whether any robot vacuum cleaner would be able to successfully move unassisted throughout the several rooms of each story and be able to negotiate the wood floor thresholds. Nevertheless, we wanted one to help with the floor vacuuming chore.

We did not want a room mapping (memory) type system as our home has so many rooms in the 2 stories and the mapping systems appear not to remember a room map when moved by hand to another room (as we must do). After studying the reviews we chose the Ecovacs N79S as our test subject. Since arriving we have run the robot completely throughout the house several times. To our surprise and delight "Rufus the Robot" went through each room and was able to climb right up and over the threshold obstacles. The one exception is the threshold to the family room which is about a 1.5 inch sheer drop to a brick floor. Rufus correctly sees this as a low dropped off area and turns around in another direction. From the lower brick side the vertical threshold profile is sensed as a obstacle. This we expected. The slim profile allows Rufus to get under several tables we previously had to move to vacuum and fits under the kitchen base cabinet recessed areas without a problem.

The amount of dust and odd bits this vacuum picks up is astonishing. We vacuum regularly with a good canister unit but this thing still manages to find lots of dust. The twin side brushes are especially good at getting dirt and dust from not only baseboards, but from around furniture legs and large low items as well. Our observation is this aspect of the Ecovacs is superior to the single side brush units in that as the vacuum passes close to an item in either direction a brush will move debris. Thus twice the opportunity to clean around a furniture leg, cabinet edge, etc. There are several cleaning modes to select from but on "auto" the vacuum moves randomly but appears to make 2 or more passes over a particular spot. That said, because it is random in motion it most likely will miss a small spot or two but should get it next time.

The remote is small and works well when you are line of sight with the unit. It is nice to pause cleaning using the remote if you need to move something or find the robot going somewhere you don't want. Steering with the remote is easy and if the unit traps itself (under a desk behind the chair) you can steer it out rather than have it spend 2 or 3 minutes until it lines itself up just right.

The charging station is very light and easy for the unit to displace while cleaning. A little velcro is your charging stations friend.
Finding the charging station is sort of luck that depends on how many rooms/doors away the station is when the unit wants to go home. If it is line of sight then usually it will find it and dock. Our walls are very thick so we are not a good test case for a more modern construction type home and perhaps it might work better. Its not a problem - just pick up Rufus and put him down where he can sense the charging station signal. We just usually let him run about 90 minutes then go find him so he won't run down under the desk or bed.

Pros:
1. Battery life is very good. Almost 2 hours on hardwood floors.
2. Dust bin is large enough that unless things are very dirty you need only empty every return for charging.
3. Quiet. Much quieter than others - especially on solid floors.
4. Cleans up easily after use (and you need to clean it each time after full use)
5. Very good brush action and suction- even on brick flooring with grooved joints.
6. Seems gentler than Roomba on items it bumps into.
7. Good power to get over thresholds.
8. Price - this would be a good choice at full Amazon price. A bargain when on sale.

Cons:
1. Pleated paper filter is small and will need replacement sooner than most. (Not expensive).
2. Beeps for problems/service are hard to hear from other rooms.
3. Slows down slightly on carpet. Lots of carpet may affect run time.
4. Smaller filters require filter cleaning after each use. (Easy to accomplish)
5. Not for longer carpet, however works fine on our short decorative rugs. (No long fringe)

Summary:

We will have to see how Rufus holds up as time goes on but we are very satisfied with the Ecovacs for our home and its somewhat unique requirements. Our daughter has a very expensive Roomba in her home (with dogs and mostly carpet) and it works exceptionally well. We think on our solid surface floors and for our house type the Ecovacs is every bit as good at cleaning. If you have hard surface flooring and short nap rugs we recommend you give the Ecovacs N79S a through investigation. If your home is mostly carpet, particularly if it is thick or somewhat longer napped, you might look at another model.

I read somewhere that the DN79S is the same thing as the DN622.11. First, I hate writing reviews so the fact that I'm writing this says something. We bought it about 6-7 months ago? And after the first few days we said if this thing only lasts us half a year, it would have cost us about $1 a day and we asked ourselves if it was worth it. Completely! and we normally wouldn't say that. We figured we would run it everyday for the first week and then figured we'd only run it every other day or every third day after that. Were we wrong! We run it every day - plus often spot clean around the island counter because our kids are messy eaters. We have a boxer and didn't even think it shed that much. We were wrong again. My Honey empties the Deebot everyday and he says he's "disgusted" with what a good job it does. "It gives you low self esteem." Low self esteem aside, we are very happy with it.
We read a funny review of this when we bought it in the spring saying the Deebot is great but it is sometimes dumb. Sometimes it takes more than 5 minutes for the unit to find the docking station. Sometimes it's within 10 feet of the docking station and it starts to veer off somewhere else. It gets caught on cords, strings, backpack straps, shoelaces, and paper towels - but we are really at fault for that. We have a small powder room and sometimes it gets stuck behind the toilet.
Installing the App was simple enough for our then 9 year old to do it for us. (Though that doesn't speak to whether we could have done it ourselves or not.) You can change the cleaning schedule via the App - we turned it off while we were at the beach. You can set it to run every day or whatever days you want. You can have multiple cleaning schedules. You can turn it on manually and steer it with the remote. For some reason, i's hugely gratifying to steer it to clean a small area instead of getting out the dust pan and brush. It has a room cleaning feature though we never bothered to learn how to do it. (I'll ask my 10 year old to set it up one of these days) It has an edging feature to go around the room and it remembers eventually where all the permanent walls and furniture is. It also seems to sense when there is an obstacle in front of it but we're not sure because it has such a RANDOM cleaning pattern. If there is an actual pattern or algorithm, we haven't figure it out yet. But it gets the job done. (98% of it anyway) If you at some point don't just stand there and watch it clean for awhile, then you're a better person than we are. I am sometimes mesmerized by it.
We thought the dog would go crazy around it but he just ignores it. He's a 75 Lbs dog that has stepped on it accidentally a number of times and SirCleansALot (that's what our daughter named it) doesn't seem worse for the wear.
It has a standard and a maximum vacuum setting but we only run it on the standard suction. (Think how low our self esteem would be on the maximum setting). It doesn't suck up our dog's food on the standard settings sometimes - but probably because the pieces are too big.
Both filters and brushes can all be replaced - the App has an indicator that lets you know about when the items should be replaced but use your good judgement and then you can reset the reminder once you've replaced the items. It's most economical to buy the packages that has everything.
The Deebot really works best for people who have all one flooring like hardwood or vinyl planks or tile, etc. We also have low weave area rugs at all three of our doors and it has no problems with them.
The noise seems loud when it starts but it quickly becomes background noise. We can't use it at night because I'm a light sleeper. The run noise itself doesn't bother me but the beeping when it turns on and when it docks is really loud and wakes me up because we live in an open concept house.
Totally worth it. And if it isn't worth it to you, return it - but it's worth giving it a try. It really keeps our floors so much cleaner. I haven't really brought out the broom since we bought this. It's kind of like having a maid come to you house and sweeping/vacuuming your floors every day. (I only gave a 4 for deep cleaning because we don't have plush rugs so we don't know.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Efficacité d'aspiration et surtout silence de fonctionnement !
Reviewed in France on March 21, 2022

5.0 out of 5 stars Efficacité d'aspiration et surtout silence de fonctionnement !
Reviewed in France on March 21, 2022

5.0 out of 5 stars DEEBOT N79S
Reviewed in Italy on May 2, 2020

5.0 out of 5 stars Compra más que recomendable.
