I've had bad luck with razors in the past year... gone through 3 electric ones from big names. All were more expensive than this Remington. This one is a classic-style electric razor with a bit of ergonomics and multi-blade action thrown in. I have to say its the smoothest shave of all of them. It also has a charging stand that is simple but it works. The cap is cleverly designed to protect the foil while still allowing air flow to let it dry and it doubles as a stand (put the razor top-down with the cap on) so you can travel with it, shave, and let it dry while charging.
If this holds up (no reason to believe it won't but, like I said, I've had bad luck these past 12 months) I may very well be sticking with Remington products.

Great shaver with a totally useless trimmer.
I got this from somewhere else to review. So if you see this review in another place by VJJohn, it's me.For over 4 decades I've used Remington electric shavers. They give a close, easy, quick shave, & lasted a long time.With the new lithium power instead of the older Ni-cad or NiMh technology you no longer have to remember to put it in the charger every day or 2. But it's a good idea to charge it often though, as lithiums don't last as long if you're regularly wearing them down to almost no power all the time. If do you forget, & you do wear it down, 5 minutes in the charger is all it takes to get enough charge for a single shave. It has enough power to travel with the weekend with it, & leave the charger at home. For a typical shave, you might get by almost a week on the road without the charger.It shaves just as good as my old Remington shavers did. I was glad to discover you don't really need the cradle to charge it if you don't want to. You can plug the charger directly into the shaver too. The screen on my old Remington wore down. It started pinching & pulling hairs, but I hadn't got around to ordering a new screen for it yet. Maybe with this new one around, I'll wait a little later. I was using a spare smaller cheaper travel electric in the meantime.So why not 5 stars? Because after I started using it, I remembered why I hadn't gotten around to getting a new screen for my old Remington yet. The trimmer on it & this new shaver is insanely poorly designed. Instead of pushing forward to use it like on most other shavers, & on their very old models, the newer Remington trimmers flip out of the side. It very difficult & awkward to trim anything with it. Clearly whoever designs their trimmers, never tried to actually use them. Aside from the awkward difficulty of a side, flip-out trimmer, if you're trimming the side of your face, like sideburns or hairline edge, the light in most bathrooms is blocked by the shadow of the shaver so you can't see what you're trimming. Turn your face to the side to see the side of your face in the mirror while trimming, & the shaver blocks your view of what you're trying to trim. Mustache, beard, or goatee trimming is a nightmare. Aside from the shadow created by the shaver, the shaver itself blocks your view through the mirror of what you're trying to trim. Are we supposed to trim & groom blind? They must put the trimmer in the front like on other shavers, & like their very old models were. Not a flip out, on the side. Nice, close, easy, comfortable shave, but years ago they ruined it all by making it impossible to use the trimmer on their shavers. Why even bother putting a trimmer on there, if it's not really possible or practical to use it?
