Product Description
Whether you’re just getting into records, rediscovering a record collection long since buried away or simply adding a turntable to complete your system, the AT-LP60X fully automatic belt-drive turntable is an excellent choice. This affordable, easy-to-use turntable plays both 33-1/3 and 45 RPM records and, with its built-in switchable phonon preamp, can be connected directly to your home stereo, powered speakers, computer and other components, whether they have a dedicated phonon input or not. An update of the popular AT-LP60, the ATLP60X features a redesigned tone arm base and head shell to improve tracking and reduce resonance. Noise is further reduced by the inclusion of an AC adapter that moves the AC/DC conVersion outside of the chassis where its impact on the signal chain is limited. Audio-Technical has been a leader in phonon cartridge design for more than 50 years, and that expertise shows in the AT-LP60X’s Dual Magnet cartridge with replaceable stylus. The cartridge is integrated into the head shell for assured performance and ease of setup. The turntable comes with a detachable RCA output cable (3. 5 mm male to dual RCA male), 45 RPM adapter, and a removable hinged dust cover. It is available in black (AT-LP60X-BK), brown/black (AT-LP60X-BW), gunmetal/black (AT-LP60X-GM), and red/black (AT-LP60X-RD).

Now, let's talk about the sound. It's like rediscovering music all over again. The redesigned tone arm and head shell really make a difference – they improve tracking and reduce that annoying resonance you sometimes get with other turntables. And get this: the AC adapter is outside the chassis, which means less noise interference and cleaner audio. Trust me, you'll notice the difference.
Oh, and the little extras? They're just the cherry on top. The detachable RCA output cable, the 45 RPM adapter – it's all there. Bottom line: if you're in the market for a turntable that's affordable, easy to use, and delivers top-notch sound quality, the AT-LP60X is the way to go. I'm already thinking about buying another one for a different room in the house.

I haven't experimented with whether it needs a pre-amp, or not - it depends upon which amp you're using and they're cheap enough to buy if you need one; and I haven't attempted direct recording to other media formats - I have $2000 player and old CD recorder/player set up for that so I can make my own CDs. I'm not into music on computers, digital downloads or all the awful modern crap from last 20 years.
OK, sound isn't on the same level as a $1000+ hi-fi turntable, with all the 20lb weight, leveling, and the rest, but it is adequate for my needs.
Would make a very nice starter turntable for a teenager who's maybe discovering what vinyl was all about 50, 60 years ago and spinning grand-dad's old records, or buying new ones since vinyl's back in popularity again after the wilderness years of 1990s - 2010s. It's nicely retro, without being cheesy. It just does the job without hassle. Back to analog. I bet you can even find a mono cartridge if you look around.
Having an extensive vinyl and CD collection, I made do with my disc player. However, I yearned for the sound of vinyl.
This is not a bad machine and unlike my previous turntable which was manual this one is automatic to play albums and 45's. It's kinda nice. However, it doesn't feel as sturdy as it is quite light. I found out the needle is very, very fragile as it can pop off easily and if you're not careful it can easily break if you don't put it back just so. The drive belt seems very light and I just hope it doesn't wear out with extensive use. But that's the chance we all take.
Delivery was very good and it arrived undamaged. It is easy to set up and shows clear instructions. There is also a switch on the back of the turntable. I have no idea what purpose it serves. When I put my first album on, it sounded very distorted. I thought my receiver or my speakers were the issue or that I hadn't connected it properly. None of this was the case and trying one last thing it was the switch in the back of the table itself. Once I flipped it the sound was perfectly clear. It's a good machine and it serves its purpose. It's just that it's so light to the point it feels flimsy. My advice to anyone purchasing this model is; it is a quality machine that serves its purpose, but keep the original box cause if you plan on moving or decide to set it up elsewhere it is very fragile so be careful.
