I'm sorry this will only be as short as they make me be but, I guarantee it will be SWEET!! This part I will make short I had a back injury and only was able to keep up the front yard. The back yard went horribley wrong after 3 months I have grass so thick it would make Fabio look bald. So in 3 months it was 1 - 3 feet depending on the area if the yard. I knew the only way I was going to conquer this beast was with a weed eater. I go on Amazon and the search begins with dozens to choose from and I do not want to spend a lot of money on a necessity duh I would rather spend the big bucks on stuff I don't really need!! Lol I am scrolling through each one noticing with the ones 60 and under corded of course because they are cheapest and reliable. I am noticing that all of the seem to be made for someone 4' or shorter and with back issues already I was not looking to bend over for 6 hours!! Then on top of that I had my choices of 3 - 4 amp I mean I'm not trying to power one of those kid cars I am trying to cut some scary grass that was out of control!! Then I come across this Greenworks weed eater and I look it up and it is on top 5 best corded weed eaters on the market I believe it was 3rd on the list so I looked up the top 2 and was not impressed. I go back to Amazon and check it out again 1. It's long and no bending over 2. This bad boy has a 10 amp powering it 3. It has a detachable head and I can buy other attachments to do other jobs 4. It has a 4 year warranty and 5. Most important it's only 55.00!!!!!! I who priced this monster?!?!?!? I see all kinds of junk on the web for outrageous prices and they are all crap and here we have the weed eater to make all other weed eaters bow at it's feet and it's priced like a Wal-Mart POS that you bring home and take back the next day because it was as lousy as you knew it would be but, you just couldn't resist how cheap it was!!!! HaHa!! Well anyway so I go to the reviews and the majority are very good but, of course there are those that when you read them had some legitimate complaints and then I start looking at the dates and they are all over 2017 or older. I'm thinking to myself Greenworks had to have read the gripes took notice and fixed them all. Right? Because all manufacturers realize the customers using the product know best and want to make it the best ever!! Then I wake up and realize this is a 5' weed eater, 10 amp, 4 year warranty under 60.00 bucks and come out of my fantasy and reality slaps me in my face saying "we have been here done this and it is always to good to be true" so I hit buy now!!!! So of course because Amazon is the baddest MF on Earth I got it the next day being a prime member (best money I have ever spent) and it arrived in the morning on Sunday so I got it out and put it together and went outside to check it out. I was leaving out of town for work that day and would be gone for a week but, I wanted to try it before I left. I went out back and starting cutting I was very impressed but, did not like the line it came with. I fortunately paid attention to the reviews and caught on others did not like it either so I had ordered the line that Amazon said most people bought when buying this weed eater. Problem was it was not coming until Thursday because it was not being shipped from Amazon and no big deal because I am out of town for a week. Friday comes and I get home late evening so visit with the family and then off to bed as I want to be up early and beat the sun I live in Texas and although it's September it's still getting to 100 and over. Well I get up at 5 have coffee and mill around until first light and I am out the door. I got the new line in the mail on Thursday but, I figured why not use what it came with first. Well that lasted all of about thirty minutes when by that time I had already had to remove the spool 3 times to get the line out so I said forget this and went to get the new line. I will add the very few and minor issues at the end so I get the new line and get it installed and I am off again. It is working beautifully shredding the grass with precision and perfection. I am going at it hard and realize I only have one line out of the double line it has so off with the spool and back at it and then one line again spool off and back at it then one line so I'm like c'mon man!! I take the spool off and examine it only to realize I have loaded one side backwards so every time I feed more line one side comes out whole the other side goes in!!!!! Now everything corrected I get after it again I am able to put in 2 hours before we have to leave and get some errands done. Fast forward to 5:30pm and I am geared up and back at it and this time I am able to put in 2 and 1/2 hours. I finally realized to take pictures and added them the pictures are take before I finished as I was able to get a lot more done but, it for dark so no pics of what I was able to accomplish in a 4 1/2 hour time span I will add those and the finished ones if I am able to. I have to say I am extremely satisfied with this product and will recommend it to anyone who will listen to me tell this story!!!!! Now the gripes which are meaningless in comparison to the products overall performance. 1. The instructions are horrible they tell you nothing so I will tell you now the small metal rod it comes with is what you use to take the head off to fix the line or use a different attachment 2. They do not show you how to separate the spool so to separate the spool and get to the line take a flat head screwdriver and push in on one of the 2 tabs located on either side of each other 3. I wish the padding on the shoulder strap was padded more because after awhile it the strap starts to dig in pretty good. That's it nothing else I can complain about it works very, very, very well!! GREAT JOB GREENWORKS for making a product that you can proudly stand behind because they actually listened to all those gripes and came back with a product that is freaking top shelf and worth much more than what they are asking for it so shhhhh don't tell them that!!
