Livescribe 3 Smartpen for Tablets and Smartphones

Simply write on paper and the Livescribe 3 smartpen captures all your notes. Pair it with your Android or iOS device and your notes instantly appear in the Livescribe+ mobile app. Your notes become more useful when they are converted to text, tagged, searchable, and shared with friends and colleagues. With a few quick taps of your finger, your notes can be used in your favorite apps to create contacts, appointments, and more. Record audio that's synced to your handwriting so that you can play it back and relive your lectures and meetings at any time.

How It Works

The Livescribe 3 smartpen is designed with the meticulous attention to detail that a premium writing instrument deserves. From the integrated stylus cap, down to the Swiss-made tungsten-carbide ballpoint ink cartridge, we've paid close attention to deliver an experience that is worthy of the title of your new favorite pen. But it is the amazing amount of technology packed inside the Livescribe 3 that really delivers the magic. Once you twist the ring to extend the ink cartridge, everything you write is captured by the infrared camera on the pen and stored on the smartpen’s built-in memory. Simply connect your smartpen to your iOS or Android device and watch as all your notes are synced to the Livescribe+ mobile app.

Livescribe+ is available on iOS8 or newer and Android KitKat (v4.4.2) or newer

Pencasts Help You Never Miss a Word

Using the microphones on your tablet or smartphone, create pencasts that record and synchronize audio to everything you write or sketch. Play back your pencasts to hear, see and relive notes as if you were back in your meeting or lecture so that you will never lose any important information.

Share your pencasts as PDF files, which can be easily played back on any of the devices you use every day, including Mac, Windows, Android or iOS.

I can imagine the support for iPad is just as bad. I personally have nothing against iPad

I can imagine the support for iPad is just as bad. I personally have nothing against iPad
WARNING TO ANDROID USERS!Users of Android be aware, the support for this pen on Android is AWFUL. I guess livescribe is under the illusion that people only use iPad's. That would explain why these pens don't sell well. I can imagine the support for iPad is just as bad. I personally have nothing against iPad, just not my jam. Anyway, after being told that the key word searching would not work with Android, I was stuck with the pen anyway. That's what happens when you get something for Christmas see. It sits under a tree for about 2 to 3 weeks, and when you do open it, well you're stuck with it because it's past the return period. Moving on, I used it for notes anyway, I got past the searchable part of it. I got past the poor support for evernote on android. I took notes with it for 3 months, everything I did. Stored it on my tablet and trashed the paper, isn't that the point of this pen? So you don't have to keep paper? Well friends, my tablet went down... hard. Broken screen, caused by my nephew. I was going to purchase a new one anyway, and I opted for a Pixel C. Here's where the warning comes in. This pen WILL NOT sync with Andriod 6 and above. The Livescribe link app will connect the pen, but the second you open the Livescribe + app, the one that holds all of your notes, it tells you location services is not turned on and it's require to sync. Seriously? You need to know my location so I can take a note? Can you imagine if other things you use every day required this? What if your toilet or toilet paper required you location? Yea that's just as stupid. So after an hour with Tech support... and answering questions 5 or 6 times, I am without my notes. 3 months worth... over 200 pages. Gone... Livescribe also did not care. Which is very sad, this isn't my first livescribe pen, I've had others and I loved them. So now I sit. No notes. No help... I was told I could purchase and older tablet and get them... Thanks Livescribe, that's supper helpful! How about you just give me back the 250.00 I spent on your pen, the extra notebooks and the pen refills? I know you won't and that's why this one gets one star. Stay away Android users... just stay away.
