I did not know what I was missing. I’ve only ever used electric heaters but the place I moved to has old wiring. Electric heaters are a no go. I was hesitant to try a radiator heater because I’ve never used one. I kept it on the lowest settings possible and my room was so warm! Granted, it takes longer to heat up the room than electric, but that is offset by sheer performance. I was heating a single room so it will definitely heat a larger space. I suffer with extremely dry skin in the winter. All my knuckles crack and bleed regardless of what lotions or vasaline I use. I did not have that issue this winter. I feel like a large reason is this heater not sucking moisture out of the air like their electric counterparts. It comes with a remote which is really rice when you’re laying in bed and realize you forgot to turn it on before laying down. Obviously it gets hot, it’s a radiator heater. So if you have small children, maybe not a good idea.

We use this at night to to heat up the bedroom before we settle into bed. We have oil heating so heating the whole floor doesn't make sense as oil heating is expensive. Helps us get by the winter without having to fill up again, as we just use the oil heating for the first floor which we spend most of out time.

Using ECO mode is perfect! It saves a little electricity as this is a 1500W heater, so thats a lot of power to run all the time. ECO keeps it up to temp only when it needs to. You get a litte bit of popping noise in the begining when you turn it on, but its silent afterward. ECO and 70F is perfect at night for our 400sqft bedroom. It's 35-40 degrees now in NE weather, and the heat is off to all upstairs, but this thing heats the room up in less than a hour before we go to bed. Love the timer too, we set it for 4 hours and by 2-3am it turns off since the room will remain hot until we wake up. AMAZING little heater! Much smaller than i assumed it would be, but it takes up less space when stored away.

I can’t comprehend how this heater has so many positive reviews. I question if some of these reviews were solicited (i.e. offering something in exchange for a positive review) as I am noticing more and more sellers doing this.

I ordered 2 PELONIS Electric 1500W Oil Filled Radiator Heaters. It can not be a coincidence that I got to malfunctioning heaters.

Heater 1 doesn’t work and the other (heater 2) only produces a little heat. The first one turns on starts heating (a little) and then about 15 minutes later it stops heating. I left it on for 5 hours in a room that had a temperature of 46 degrees F/. I tried this over 6 days and it would not produce heat after the initial 15 minutes. I adjusted all the settings, made sure ECO mode was off, tried it on various degrees, and still it won’t produce heat after the first 15 minutes. When it does produce a little heat for a few minutes, it smells like it is burning. The smell does not stop, at least not for the hours/days I was testing it. The front panel with the numbers gets slightly (very slightly) warm, but the fins are cold, not even slightly warm over the 5 hours I left it on.

Heater 2 does produce heat, but not very much. I compared it to another 1500 watt portable radiator heater I have, and this one is just terrible at producing heat. I can’t get it to warm up a 150sf room.

Additionally, my other two older heaters (De'Longhi Radia S Eco Digital Full Room Radiant Heater), which are great heaters, both make oil popping sounds when they heat up. You can also shake them and hear the oil sloshing in them. While, Heater 1 (PELONIS) does make some popping sounds, but very little and quickly stops. Heater 2 (PELONIS) makes no popping sounds. Also, when you shake both of them, you can’t hear any oil sloshing around like you can with my De'Longhi heaters. I have not seen either of the PELONIS heaters leak, so if the oil leaked, it was before I received them. I am not sure if this is even the issue, but it is odd that the oil doesn’t pop when heating up as it is supposed to.

Furthermore, I also ordered a KopBeau 1500W Oil Filled Radiator Electric Heater with Digital Thermostat. The KopBeau heater also has questionable good reviews that I can’t understand. This heater doesn’t produce great heat either, at least not like my De'Longhi heaters. It too does not seem to have oil in it.

Overall, I will be returning all of these heaters. I should have just bought another De'Longhi heater, but I was trying to save money. The PELONIS heater was selling for around $80, the KopBeau for about $75, and the De'Longhi heater was over $200. Lesson learned you get what you pay for.

I researched this heater before buying it for a friend. They wanted some supplemental heat for a large sunroom. We are in Manitoba, so it gets very cold here. By all reports, the oil-filled heaters are the most efficient, as far as portable type heaters go. So far, my friends are very happy with this Pelonis heater and its features. Pelonis is also rated very highly, hence the decision to buy this brand.

The heater is great. It's saved me a lot on energy bills and works very well, and continues to release heat for a while after it turns off. The only problem is the remote needs to precisely face the front of the heater to work, but the product itself is great! Occasionally, the heater has also started making a very odd buzzing sound that concerns me when it occurs. However, after turning the heater off and on again it always stops.
