For the price of this blow dryer you get a really powerful hair dryer. It does not get very hot but it is definitely got more air coming out so it makes up for that in dry time. It is a little heavier then other dryers but it does cut down on my dry time so I 'm willing to have a little more weight in my hand for a shorter amount of time. Lastly the thing I don't like is the cord, darn thing gets tangled way to easily and when that happens it makes the chord smaller so its a total bummer. Otherwise as for how it drys thick hair like mine, worth the investment.

This hairdryer is advertised and lightweight, but it’s literally double the weight of my old salon hair dryer it is replacing. It’s also very loud. I have about 40% hearing loss in both ears and I find it uncomfortably loud. The reason I still give it 4 stars is because although it’s really heavy and loud, it dries my really thick hair in about 2/3 of the time as my old salon hair dryer did. For someone who blow dries their hair everyday and has as thick of hair as I do, that is important. I can’t get over how powerful the motor is. Every time I use it, it sounds and feels like a jet engine taking off. The loud motor I guess is something to consider if you’re trying to blow dry your hair with someone sleeping in the next room...it will wake them up.

Update (March 2020): I’ve been using this hair dryer nearly everyday for over a year and it’s still working great and how it did on day one. One thing I appreciate that I didn’t put in my initial review is that the mesh piece on the back of the dryer makes it very easy to clean off. Because of the motor is so powerful, you’ll need to clean it more frequently than the average hair dryer. If this hair dryer were to break down, I would buy another one without hesitation.

I never realized a good hairdryer could make such a difference. I love how powerful it is and how quickly it dries my hair! I have long, thick, Asian hair and it usually takes a good 30 minutes to dry my hair. I would say I can dry my hair in about half the time with this dryer.

I would give it 5 stars but the plastic piece that protects the filter doesn't clamp on properly and often pops off. I didn't want to bother with the hassle of exchanging it (waste of packagagin, etc.) with a new product, so I didn't return/exchange it for such a minimal issue. Hopefully it won't annoy me too much...
