I had a friend who works in a stereo shop install this behind the driver's seat of my 1988 Lincoln Town Car about 2 years ago. It's in the floor well in front of the back seat with the speaker facing the rear of the car, wedged in nicely and not going anywhere. This thing hits hard and sounds great, though you can definitely hear the bass drop off in some electronic tracks (Pendulum likes to drop to sub-30Hz bass in some tracks for example). This sub sounds fine for dubstep and metal, but trance and rap can be a bit much for it at high volumes - anything with a beating drum (boom-boom-boom) really. I keep my JVC head unit at 24-27 volume usually. Anything with thumping bass is kept on the lower end to avoid distorted bass. Once you adjust the sub, it probably doesn't hurt to direct the sub 125Hz bass away from your speakers since the sub is handling it, if your head unit allows you to do that - I just feel it made a better sound stage over all for my listening.
I've never had any issues with this subwoofer - no "circuit protect" cut offs like the older Infinity BassLink subs are prone to, no defects. Very pleased with my purchase.

Pioneer TS-WX1210A 12" Sealed enclosure active subwoofer with built-in amplifier
Built with high bandwidth, high output and low distortion 300-watt Class D amplifier mated to high sensitivity woofers specifically optimized for use in small, sealed enclosures.
User adjustable controls include a LPF, phase control and variable bass boost (0 to +12 dB, 40Hz to 100Hz) providing enhanced control. To expand system flexibility and user control, input gain can be adjusted using the included wired remote bass control knob or via the input gain control mounted on the enclosure side panel.
The innovative trapezoid shape of the enclosure is designed for high rigidity and to reduce internal standing waves, while also increasing installation flexibility. Good Bass for money
Had a shop here in Atlanta install bass tube inside my 2015 BMW 535i msport, wires were a little thin the installer said, and also needed a converter fuse (which it didn’t come with). But still, a good price and good bass. I didn’t want to much bass, but enough to turn some heads when I pulled up. That’s exactly what I got. And even only at 40%….this Pioneer inclosed bass box hits pretty hard! Installer advised me to give the bass tube time to get adjusted, maybe 2 weeks then I can turn percentage up to 70-80%. Inside my car, it sounds really good and the bass hits hard. Love that it came with an adjustment nob so I can increase or decrease bass output. Parked my car, And played one of my favorite songs that had deep bass, walked about 30 yards away from my car and it wasn’t a lot of bass, but enough to for my needs and it sounded good. The closer I walked towards my car, the more bass I heard. It was like a party inside my BMW lol. And that was only at 50%. The box does need to breathe a little in my opinion, so I opened the little compartment in my backseat to my trunk, opened my windows and even more bass came out and can be heard. Will it shake windows, no…but they will definitely hear when you pull up. If you want a lot of bass, this isn’t going to give you a lot with 300 amplified built in, but enough bass to sound good.
