I have the fitbit charge 3 so we all have a competition to see who can get the most exercise in daily. I never win but it keeps them motivated beating dad. Also has silent alarms which vibrate on your wrist. Surprisingly powerful enough to wake me up. Not sure about them yet. I would recommend this device!

This is a winner! My daughter is borderline obsessed with this, and maximizes her steps on a daily basis with this! It has been charged and worn daily since Christmas, and she loves seeing how much she moves and how well she sleeps.

Capabilities are limited when compared to the adult versions that her friends have, and she wants a “smart watch” next year (not happening, she is in Apple Watch envy right now). I did find replacement bands online (still the silicone), and the silicone is my primary complaint. We got dark purple, but it still got to looking dingy and gross. I looked for the metallic bands like I got for my Apple Watch and others have for the adult fitbits, but haven’t found them to fit the kids version.

We had several other kids brands in the past, and this was the easiest by far to set up and use daily. My 5 year old has already asked for one for her birthday!

My almost 11-year-old daughter had been wanting a Fitbit for quite some time, but even my size small was too large for her. I was hesitant to spend the money for this, but I am so glad I did! She has been using this every day for several months now and is holding up very well. I created a kids account for her and she checks the app periodically. She seems to get Several days out of the charge, and even though she has jumped into the pool a couple times forgetting that she had a Fitbit on, it has continued to work. So the water resistant feature has been a huge plus. I would definitely purchase this again if one of my younger children asked for one and a couple years

My daughter asked for 2 things for her 8th birthday. A fitbit, and a baby panda. This seemed like the realistic way to go. She loves it, and beats me in every challenge. I'm satisfied with the purchase, and humiliated by my constant defeat. It's rugged enough to stand up to her constant movement, and fashionable enough that she likes to wear it with everything. She's very conscientious of her movement and sleep habits now, and enjoys engaging others in physical activity. That's what it's all about, so bravo! I understand you pay for the name, but realistically, it could probably cost a little less, only true complaint.

We have three of these, two have been going strong for over a year and one for 6 months. My kids wear them every day and compete with each other and their friends to see who is the most active. I love how they encourage them to stay active. When the ones they’re wearing are all worn out I will be buying them again. My only complains that if I go too long without syncing them to the app the time tends to get off by a few minutes. Not that big of a deal as long as I remember to sync them.

I bought two of the Fitbit Ace, for my kids. One kept dying, and wouldn't hold a charge. Every time the fitbit loses its charge, it needs to be re-sync'd because the date & time are no longer accurate. So I sent it back and received a new one. Both the current Fitbit Ace's have the same problem. They hold a charge for less then 24 hours, and the app has difficulty locating them to sync. It takes no less than 10 minutes to sync them each time they die, due to the app looking for them. I would never recommended this product to another parent.

I bought this for my 11 year old. I also have a fit bit and she wanted one so we could do challenges mainly. She has wanted to go for walks more so that is a plus. I would like to see a more child friendly app. I appreciate that it's set up so that a parent has to approve requests, but the trickiest part of that is finding and adding the family members to her account. I can only do that from her app. on her phone from what I can tell. It would be far more convenient to add people for her from my app. It would also be nice if the Ace tracked more exercise type things like running.
The band fit great for my daughter and the package included a larger band for those with bigger wrists.
The battery life doesn't seem to last as long as my fit bit which surprised me since mine is older. It isn't a big issue as long as she notices and puts it on the charger. The sleep tracking is neat. Again it would be neat if the app would add fund facts for kids to learn about health and fitness.
Overall, I would recommend this for someone if the family also has fit bits so the child can join in. It is a good motivator and it is fun to challenge each other. I will say I did not pay full price ($100) for this and I think the full price is a little high for what the ACE offers.
