My Headline says it all. I have only written a couple reviews and this is one that I would say buyer beware. This was my first purchase of a battery powered lawn mower. I have had and used Snapper over the years, and have always found it to be a great product. I have a 1 Acre piece of property and was looking to get away from gas powered. After doing a lot of research on this item and other mowers similar but of different makes I decided to go with this one. I received the mower, took less 15 minutes to unpackage and put together. I charged the batteries, and was ready to go. I had never used a battery powered mower but I have used many other tools that are battery powered, and have had great success with those items, along with excellent battery (charge life). I was excited and looking forward to the new mower. I put a charged battery in, and started a stop watch on my phone to see how much run time I got. I wasn’t expecting to get 45 minutes of run time, but I also wasn’t expecting to get 14 Min, 56 seconds on my first attempt either. I put the 2nd fully charged battery in and got 12 Min, 12 secs of run time. I went back thru the instructions to make sure I had done everything correct, fully charged one of the batteries again, and got 13 Minutes even. One more try and I got 13 Min, 39 seconds. All of these times are on the 82V Max 2Ah batteries that were supplied with the mower. The grass was not high, or wet. I had the mower deck set at the 5th position for height. The instructions say that the battery will not develop a memory, and will stop charging once it is fully charged.I contacted Snapper Customer Service off of the Users Manual, and after approx. 30 minutes was finally able to speak with a live person. I explained what I was experiencing, and was informed that the 45 minutes of run time would only be reachable if the Self Propel was not used and it was under no power (Meaning that it was not cutting any grass). I was told that if I wanted to achieve 45 Minutes of run time that I needed to purchase a 82V 4Ah battery for an additional $299.99. I asked if there could be something wrong with the batteries or even the battery charger for the amount of time being so low. The representative stated that No that if I was getting a solid green light that the batteries and charger were fine. It was obvious that I wasn’t going to get anywhere with Snappers Customer Service, so I tested their theory, and gave the batteries a full charge, and then started the mower in my garage under no power and not cutting any grass. My results: 19 Minutes 18 seconds and 19 Minutes 43 seconds.The Mower itself cut great, was easy to put together, Easy to Start, was very quiet, and overall with the exception of the batteries a good mower. (4 Stars) When you add in the 12-15 Minute battery life, unless you have a very small yard that will take you only 20-25 minutes to walk behind and cut, I would strongly recommend against buying this mower and dealing with Snappers Customer Service who’s only apparent goal is to get you to buy Very High Priced Batteries instead of looking at the fact that they may have or the customer may have gotten bad batteries or a bad charger. Overall Rating for the battery life and Snapper Customer Service (1-2 Stars)Amazon Customer Service was great when I explained the situation and the reason I was wanting to return the mower.
