Definitely worth my while
I'm moving from a late 2013 iMac that couldn't get out if it's own way. I'm shocked at how fast this i7 16Gb Mac Mini is! I am very happy with it so far.I bought the AGPTEK USB-C hub with SATA slot to go under it, a Crucial 1TB SSD mounted inside, and a Macally USB-C Mouse to push the arrow around. Only very rarely have I watched a spinning beach ball. Everything loads so fast.

I loved how fast it got to me (2) days early. Unpacking and setting up was quick and easy. Transferí g everything in my old MacMini was a breeze the additional features in the Big Sur platform was awesome as well as the multiple cores made my functions run so much faster. I’m happier than a pig in mud. LOL every step of the process has been great and easy.

Our Mac Mini was still rocking along, but we'd reached the limit of it's OS upgrades, so we had to get a new one in order to use our tax software. Backed up to an external drive so the migration was pretty seamless. Only lost a few apps that were so old we had stopped using them anyway. Some frustration in setting up was that in order to use the computer with all the necessary USB accessories we had a new USB 3.0 hub. When in use the hub interfered with WiFi so that the Internet was unavailable. So either you could use the computer with no USB attachments or you couldn't use the Internet. Turns out the solution was counterintuitive. You have to slide the connector for the hub into the USB slot only far enough so that you get connectivity. If you push it all the way in there is some sort of electrical weirdness that sets up interference with both Bluetooth and wireless. Wasted about six hours on this problem. Seems to be a Mac/USB 3.0 issue, but rare enough that it is buried in comments like this and not generally known on the Apple site.

Guess I screwed up, I should have just returned this when I could rather than trying to put in an honest effort to get it all to work. I spent so many many hours with Apple Care and peripheral companies trying to get this Mac Mini to work that I passed the return date and still having so many problems! The mini won't reformat my hard drives, won't work with USB multipliers, the new monitor I bought (because it wouldn't work with my old one) doesn't even work right, it won't go into sleep mode, it won't do a screen saver, It keeps loosing my mouse and key board and I could go on! Basically just threw away the money on this purchase! Very very sad!

I had a mac mini 2012, and I decided to update it for this one, and I really regretted it, although the processor is more powerful, it is still not a big enough power jump to update it, I wanted it for musical production of a large number of tracks , but it does not have enough capacity to run this type of project, it gets quite hot, in fact the process was even better on my mac mini 2012, since I was able to expand the hard disk to two 1 tb ssd disks, 16 ram memory And this is the only thing I can expand the ram memory, it did not seem like the best investment of my life, I think that Apple should think of an intermediate product, compact like the mac mini with possibilities of expansion of its components, I think thousands of people They would buy it, and earn more than instead of limiting the possibility of expansion of their teams, only to be renewing it every year, and people want something that they can use more time, that will serve them for many to stage. ios, there would be many people willing to migrate to mac os if this happened, if they want something more robust and have the budget they should think about buying a mac pro, if not or are not willing to pay it I think they should opt for another type of system
