It syncs constantly and new PDFs and books are instantly available. I love the ease in adding to my library.
I very much like the oversized post it notes that can be add when reading a book, but shrink to keep a clean book page, although I wish I had a choice to write directly on a book page as I can a pdf. I like that I can type and hand write my notes. But also wish that my handwritten notes synced like my typewritten notes, to other devices, such as when I open the book on my laptop. I do like that I can collect all my notes and highlights in a list. Great for teaching. As a professor all my notes travel with me. This is a great tool for educators and professors.
I like that my audible books are accessible too.
I do wish it could “project” to my laptop like the competitor R2, this is an underrated feature that is great for educators. I would like a better pencil too that mimics the characteristics of a pencil better. I think layers would also make it a stronger competitor. Access to my files on a Google drive or other. And add an interactive daily planner. R2 has one that is transformative, created by a developer. But you have a project planner, so create/get a daily calendar planner. That add on was the clincher for me.But make it a reasonable price point.
I do like the ability to have controllable lighting as needed, very nice.
I love the custom cover/case. I got the burgundy one. Glad the pen came with it and that it is magnetic and can be secured with the loop on the case. Love those features.
I love that I can zoom in on my PDFs, not a feature on the R2. And my handwriting shrinks or grows accordingly in real time, staying proportional.
Not sure how it handles other ebooks that are not kindle, but the R2 doesn’t handle kindle books, much to my chagrin; I had a kindle library for decades.
Overall, even though I bought the R2 just 5 months ago, I was upset with myself because I was not aware of the KindleScribe. I think I would’ve gotten the Scribe first because it is great in many ways. But since I got the R2 first, I want to suggest to Amazon to upgrade some features then you can takeover this market: layers, projection, other ebooks, write directly on the pages of a book, handwritten notes in books travel with it to other devices, a keyboard perhaps. KEEP your unique good features and add these feature, plus do some marketing to increase awareness, then you got this. I would love to only need on device. So, please take heed.
The price point for it and the bundle is perfect. Smart to sell it with the pen. With the R2, I thought a separate pen was shameful, felt they were nickel and diming us, plus they charge for storage of files smh. Love the scribe.
Overall, a game changer. Love it and bragging on it to folks. I rarely write reviews. Best wishes on the success of this product.
User interface is a bit laggy due to hardware limitations, however it is also poorly designed and features are still very basic and limited. Hopefully it will be improved in the future.
The notebook feature is an excellent option for me. I use a rocketbook but the extra steps to digitize the content can be a pain. This, you pick the page template and off you go.
signing PDFs has never been easier. drag and drop the pdf to the Kindle app on your phone, open it on the scribe, and sign.
The pen writes smooth and just like an ink pen on paper.
