So far, i love it lol.
Very small form factor 22x80 SATA3 SSD drive (mainly for laptops), but 500gb a bargain at 19X.xx dollars. Gives me plenty of room to put windows and many games on the SSD that requires speed. I will give a more thorough review after i finish installing it on my Acer V Nitro black laptop.Update: it's installed, i rebooted the acer, and it shows 850 evo ssd as a disk drive device, and it's in the bios. So far good news. I downloaded samsungs latest cloning sw, and it detected my 1gb hard drive and listed it as an evo 850 ssd, then it showed my target as the 500gb evo 850 ssd lol, so it was confusing at first, but i knew it was doing the right thing because the hard disk was 1tb, and my ssd was 500gb. So it's cloning now. Acer laptops aren't the easiest to upgrade, takes some courage, but not that bad. I also upgraded my network card to intel's 7260 AC ngw card. It works great in my Acer VN7-791G. Now if i get the ssd up, my system will be pretty hot.Update2:since my acer laptop had a wd 1tb hard drive, i was able to download the acronis tools, from WD website. It allowed me to clone my hard disk to the ssd perfectly. The samsung sw was faulty. Wouldn't work right, i tried twice. The acronis sw clone tool, worked the first time. The scary part is going to regedit and changing the D: ssd drive to C: and vice-versa. Not really scary, but if your clone sw didn't work, you end up with a dead laptop. I was able to get my drive back to C: and reclone with the acronis and now my SSD is drive C: and boots as fast as i press the on button. Pretty cool, my laptop is running perfect now. I added a crystal mark jpg to see what speed i'm getting.

I started in computers when we loaded the OS from reel-to-reel tapes. Then came the Tandy (Radio Shack) "PC" that loaded from cassettes. We often went on coffee breaks waiting for programs to load. We all knew that computers would be faster some day but I don't think any of envisioned something like the Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB M.2 SSD. This drive is really sensational. Certainly beats the 8" floppies we once used! I was lucky when I selected a Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD3H (Rev 1.2) motherboard as it comes with the pesky screw pre-installed to hold the drive in place. For those of you who are planning on purchasing this drive, it shouldn't be too hard to find the screw. Ace Hardware, if there is one near you, usually has a good selection of metric screws. If not, one of the big box stores often have the right size. It shouldn't be too hard to find locally. Installing the drive couldn't be much easier. Just slip it into place and replace the screw. These are small screws so don't over tighten it. I was using this drive in a new build with the above mentioned motherboard (and I really like it), an Intel i7 4790k processor, and 32 GB of RAM. I also have two 1 TB Western Digital drive in raid for data storage (the SSD is only for the OS and programs that must be installed on the C: drive. When I build a new system or replace a boot drive I always rebuild the system. Migrating the system often brings along obsolete software or drivers that can eventually cause problems. I also have a WD 4 TB drive for long term data storage. I'm not telling you about the hardware to brag, it is just to give you an idea of the components working with the 850. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate and the system boots almost instantly. A friend timed it at 7 seconds. Takes me much longer to type in my 21 character password (I'm not paranoid, I just like long passwords) than it takes the system to boot. This drive is silent, doesn't vibrate, runs cool, and is just schmookin' fast. Saving data happens faster than it takes to press the "Save" icon.

I use Linux Mint 17.3 on my other computers but I have to use Windows on this one because it is in my ham shack as the majority of ham software is written for Windows. Unfortunately, my ham shack is in my garage, and being in northern California, the summer temps can be in the mid 90's in the garage. My processor is water cooled and I also have several case fans and a memory fan. This little drive stays right at room temp and never slows down. I am extremely happy with this drive and I consider it a good value for the money. There may be faster drives but you won't be able to tell the difference.

Nothing much to say, I have a Dell Inspiron 15 7559 Gaming laptop, it comes with 1TB SSHD, so I decided to add an SSD in the free M.2 slot, and because Dell decided to be really stupid , they decided to make that M.2 slot SATA only, not PCI-E one, so NVMe was off the table, and the best choice out there is Samsung EVO 850, but it was 170 $, while the competition were around 130$ ( for 500GB Drive), but then this drive decreased to 128 $ at the Black Friday, and it was a no brainer.
The Packaging is really solid one, inside you find the drive and a quick installation guide, which I threw away obviously, the installation is a straight forward one, insert the drive in the slot, and secure it with one screw, then download the Samsung Migration Tool, free from Samsung website, so easy to use, you can Clone your OS partition (like I did), or you can just install a fresh copy of Windows ( or Linux if you are a Windows hater), and you will notice an immediate difference in loading speeds, specially if you come from a HDD background (I've been using SSDs for 4 years now, so it is not really a huge improvement for me, still this drive feels faster at loading Windows, eventhough I didn't run an actual test yet.
Would I recommend this drive? well, it depends on your free slots and budget, you can get a much faster PCI-E based drive or even a NVMe one at 180+ $ Dollars, but you should be aware that you should have a free PCI-E slot ( Specially for laptops, in most desktops this is not an issue), but if you are like me, lack the slot and/or the budget, then you can never go wrong with this Drive.

Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB M.2 SSD (MZ-N5E250BW)

Installed in a
Dell Inspiron i7559-2512BLK 15.6 Inch FHD Laptop (6th Generation Intel Core i7, 8 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD + 8 GB SSD) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M

First I want to say, I am no computer guru, but I am someone who will teach myself when needed. That said, I installed the drive in the M.2 slot and then restarted my computer. I then used Samsung's migrating software, to clone my HDD. I then tried to find the drive in the file explorer, thinking it would recognize it and differentiate it from my 1TB HDD. Turns out that it makes an exact copy, and they both become the C drive. Because I'm not great with computers, I had to figure out what to do. I'm sure there are plenty reading this, who know the ins and out of this, and will probably think this is a simple problem. Not for me..lol

After looking for the drive, worrying I broke something, or didn't put the drive in right, turns out its a simple fix. All you should really have to do is right click on the window icon on the very left corner of the screen, the start menu, and a list will pop up. Just go to disc management and you'll see a box come up showing both drives. One of the drives will probably be offline, all you have to do it put it back online by right clicking the little icon on the left box showing the partitions. There is even a little red danger icon next to it when it's offline, so you shouldn't have trouble finding it. When I cloned it with the Samsung software, it automatically made the new drive the main c drive and shut off the old HDD, and I got a disc signature collision error. I don't know if your computer will do the exact same thing. but that's the fix if it does.Everyone's computer and situation will be different, but if something similar happens to you, Hopefully this helps you. I'm sure this has probably been discussed in the comments here, but as i have not read everyone, i'll add it in case. I now have my OS system and music recording software on my SSD, while my HDD is my D drive to save pics, music and such. You can change which drive windows will save things to by going into settings, then system, then under storgae.

The speed of this drive has been talked about in most all the comments, and it is super fast. It takes more time to type my password in then it does to start, 5-10 seconds and you are ready to go. This drive is a no-brainer, and I don't know why they are still using 5400rpm drives in 1000$ computers, or really any computer now.

I did want to add, after some reading about reviews and such on the various M.2 SSD drives, I found out that the Samsung 850 EVO M.2, has a turbowrite feature that is not even in their pro EVO line. So, it makes this drive one of the best to buy right now, and priced pretty much in line with all the other brands, but is a faster drive, at least that's what the review said. Awesome drive either way, get it!

It works as advertised. Now my Dell i7559 is snappier then it previously was. One more benefit of having an SSD inside is faster copying speeds to USB 3.0 Pendrives and HDDs. Games load faster as well. Yet to have slowdown on my system.

Those who things SSDs are costly, mind it, it is not a superfluous upgrade....but a must have. Even your i3 systems will be snappy in day today use.

RESULTADO: portatil 17¨¨, SSD 500 GB + HDD 1TB a 7.200 r.p.m + 16 gb RAM
VALORACIÓN : No tengo palabras....

I bought a Dell XPS 13 ultrabook in the summer of 2015. I wanted the 256GB SSD but the factory option was $200. Holding out was a wise decision - this Samsung SSD has nearly equal capacity and cost $60 less. It was easy to install and is fast and did not give me any BSODs (unlike anything made by Crucial). Additionally, going this route gave me an extra 128GB SSD... which promptly went into my desktop with the help of a 2.5" bracket adapter.

I have strong faith in its reliability. One of my other laptops has used an 850 Evo SSD (but in 2.5" form), also 250GB, since mid 2013 and is still working very well. The rule of thumb is that Intel and Samsung have the most reliable SSDs, after all.

Fazit: tut was sie soll, braucht wenig Platz.
