I upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, which I had no intention of replacing until it completely went out on me. Unfortunately it fell prey to a rather common issue that doesn't seem to have a fix on God's green earth, namely, the camera failing in conjunction with locking out the flashlight. This, it turns out, is a problem a lot of phones around its generation have had.
I kind of use the camera very often for many things, so it was time to start phone shopping.
I hate the idea of spending $500+ dollars on a phone. Never again. That's where the Moto G Power comes in. Not only is it compatible with my Verizon SIM, it's compatible with MINT mobile in case I eventually make the choice to switch.
The phone is big, but not overwhelmingly so. It runs well without major lag. It has nice, protective case options. It doesn't come with bloatware which I didn't recognize my hatred for until I was allowed to go without it. It does have a lot of "handy" features that I don't find all that handy, even as a pretty tech savvy 25 year old, but they can go ignored or even disabled. It's nice to know the options are there.
The battery does as it says. I can go 3 days without charging, even with regular use and having YouTube on for hours. I'm very impressed.
This phone made me even more incredulous that any regular person would ever pay more than this for a phone. With how susceptible they are to breaking, becoming outdated, failing in some way, etc., this is quite literally the best value you can find. Seriously, it's a model from just last year, practically a pocket-sized computer, and costs less than most gaming consoles.
I have one sole complaint, and that's the volume and lock buttons. All 3 are very close to together on the right hand side. I miss the standalone home button on the bottom of the phone. I miss the volume and lock buttons being on opposite sides. I fear I always will. But I must move on, into the future.

Coming from 2 iphones to an Android is... Challenging! Switching was not easy, at all. Used an app. Tried Google Drive, not good. Still have stuff to put on this phone. As to the phone, this is an Amazon renewed. The description stated: major flaws in front, side, back of item. I'll tell you, for $138 plus tax, this phone came in absolutely MINT CONDITION! THANK YOU AMAZON- AND THE SELLER, not sure who fixed it, it's brand new, not even a scratch- anywhere! Setting it up, my wifi kept not working! Obviously I know the password, after a while, it was fine, not sure what that was about!? Put my Visible SIM in, no issues! It's a tad bit slower than my iphone 8+ and XR, not enough to be worried about. This Android phone is smart- asked me if I wanted to merge my 367 contacts, it failed, dunno why but it knowing to do that was cool. With 3 kids all Face timing me, one is a bit fannoyed and refuses to download Google Duo- funny! This phone is fun! Android is fun! I don't like Google or Apple as companies, what can ya do!? I can't make a chat with the 3 of them, I send it, they see it and respond but I don't see the responses. And yes, I turned off imessage and facetime before putting the SIM in this phone. Wish I could fix that. I have turned off both phones repeatedly, still won't work?? The phone itself doesn't feel or look cheap. Getting a case has been a challenge. I had a zillion for my iphones... They seem to make junk chinese cases for this phone. I have returned 3, thanks AMAZON- and sorry. I have a clear case on right now that I got from Amazon, just ordered a black one that has a magnetic back, hoping it works. I have an evutec case that I used for my iphones, bought a bunch of those for me and the kids. Hoping the new case actually sticks to the evutec magnet mount that's in my car! As far as this phone goes, I am loving it. Another issue is notes! I have a million notes on my iphone, they didn't transfer over. I have to out all of them in Google Notes, that will solve the problem for either OS. So I have a bit of learning to do, but this is a fun phone in mint condition, that cost me $138! Thank you, Amazon! Will update if there's any other issues, which are very manageable!
