Best camera that I have ever purchased. Coming from a Sony a73. All menus are well organized. Never filmed in manual focus before. After a few days i got the hang of it, now manual focus is all that i use. Great value. Punches right along with other, more expensive cameras such as the reds and arri’s. Did I forget to mention the 6k and ssd recording. You’ll love this camera.

im coming from the Blackmagic 2.5k which I loved that camera, when I heard of the new pocket camera and would look online for example the footage look like a lot of resolution with a video look mannnnnnn was I wrong I purchased the first 6k used on amazon. I have been testing it out the low light is great with a good grade in my opinion, now here's what I have experienced so far I used a zoom lens and the images came out proudly soft even unusable but once I used sharp prime lenses im in love I fell like I purchased an early birthday gift for myself, I can see why the upgraded the LCD on the 6k pro because this one you will think your footage is on usable I will buy me an external video monitor to go with it. just buy it

I have been wanting this camera for a few years now. Now that we have it, it's great. The camera has great quality of video and picture. I love how it does everything in raw. it allows you to really have fun with your editing. The camera even came with some great software that you can use to make movies and videos. So, I would recommend this camera if you're wanting a great cinema cam that is easy to use and is in the same shape as a lot of DLSR Cameras.

The Blackmagic camera is a must get camera for any aspiring filmmakers. The Blackmagic allows you to shoot in many different types of video quality ranging from 1080p to 6k. The picture quality is simply sensational. It's very easy to use and surprisingly light for it's size. The battery life is good and if you want a longer battery life, I bought dummy batteries that can quickly be switched. It's so easy to use and would definitely recommend it to any new videographers!

Dead pixels

I purchased four (4) 6k cameras. All four cameras developed dead pixels in less than 4 months. All cameras were purchased through Amazon directly, not a 3rd party seller. We film only indoors and rarely move equipment and only use Canon lens. We film 2-3 times a week for about 4 hours each day. We never had this happen with any other brand. Anyone else having the same issue?

Update:
I was able to fix the dead pixels on two cameras by running the Pixel Remapping function (when doing this, make sure to cover the lens cap to fully eliminate light). I returned one camera to Amazon for full refund and shipped out one camera to the warranty department for repairs. The warranty support department was very easy to work with and were able to fix the camera sensor and ship back the item in about two weeks. As of now, we have three cameras, all working.

1 Year Update:
We've been using 3 cameras for almost a year. Everything has been functional so far. No new dead pixel issues.

2 Year Update:
We have been using 3 cameras for close to 2 years now. No new dead pixel issues.
Lesson learned is that cameras will likely develop a dead pixel issue in the first few months, but it can be fixed using the Pixel Remapping function. Now looking back, I may have not have done the Pixel Remapping correctly, and might have been able to save the 2 other cameras.

In all, if I had to buy the BMPCC6K cameras, I'd buy them again.

Siempre trabajé con Sony, Canon C70, C300, 1XD y Lumix GH5 y S1H, pero ahora que he probado la BMP6K sólo puedo decir que la calidad es realmente brutal. Es cierto que el handicap es el autoenfoque, el pequeño costo extra de accesorios y la duración de la batería, que se agota en 20 minutos de uso contínuo con un brillo de pantalla al 25 %, pero al final lo compensa la calidad de imagen y el rango dinámico que ofrece en cualquier condición de iluminación, incluso si decides usarla en FullHD y con el lente más económico de Canon. Yo la uso con un 24-70 F2.8 y la calidad cinematográfica es impecable. Es muy intuitiva y puede usarse como cámara principal para pequeñas producciones. Además el vendedor sigió todo mi proceso de compra e hizo todo lo posible para que mi paquete llegara a tiempo. Estoy más que satisfecho.

The BMPCC is an extremely versatile camera with incredible picture quality. What you get out of the camera is the raw ingredients that when cooked in Davinci Resolve (full studio license included) produces amazing imagery. The 6K BRAW file format is what I shoot almost everything in as it captures the best resolution and picture that this camera can produce. The file sizes, although large, when you realise what it's captured (i.e. RAW at 6K) is quite impressive. I capture to the Samsung T5 2Tb SSD which has no problem. As a test I left it recording for 3 hours and that captured approx 600Gb.

The menus are super easy and follow the same layout as other BM cameras. What I really like is the Zoom in function for critical focussing that allows you to really zoom in to check. The batteries don't last long, so make sure you have a supply or use an external power source that allows hot swapping if needed. It's easy to hold and isn't very heavy at all. I also really like the fact that if you plug in an external TC generator to the mic port, it automatically recognises it and sets the timecode.

Taking the footage into Davinci Resolve gives you so much flexibility with regards to changing white balance, exposure, highlight recovery and of course colour grading. For delivery onto HD, which is still by far the most common delivery format I work with, the 6K image gives so many options for post production in terms of re-framing shots. This makes this an ideal camera for a single camera shoot where you can punch in to close ups in post without losing resolution. The new features of Davinci Resolve studio also mean that if you do zoom in, it can follow the subject using AI technology. The two products you get make for a formidable camera system.

What I don't like is the fixed LCD screen, but I knew that when comparing against the 6K pro. To be honest, the upgrade to the 6Kpro to get this (and fixed NDs) just wasn't worth it for me. The 6K image is identical to the 6K pro.

Caméra exceptionnelle, je fais que des éloges sur cette caméra aussi bien sur les caractéristiques vidéo que sur la fabrication, seul petit bémol est le logement exigu de la connectique extérieure surtout pour la prise d'alimentation avec sa prise avec bague de serrage très difficile à tourner (avec mes doigts de fée) et le bruit de fond du ventilateur que l'on enregistre en utilisation des micro internes, mais encore BRAVO à BLACKMAGIC pour cette 6K utilisant les objectif CANON EF, l'autofocus est un peu paresseux et il est nécessaire d'avoir des batteries de secours dans sa poche...
