Who is this headset for? Well people who want a clean desktop. I specifically bought this headset not for its Sound (more on that later) but for the Wireless charging capabilities.
Cord Cutters will love these headphones for that extra umph in a clutter free desk. I went to war on wires about 1 year ago. I have to say that these were perfect in my personal war against wires.
But god I do love the QI. It is freaking AWESOME just being able to sit them down on my charger without any additional wires, no plugging in, no fiddling around the direction of the usb, and all the while making my desk just a little bit cleaner. Speaking of USB it uses a standard micro USB port if you wish not to use the QI.
If you are looking at these headphones then you are definitely looking at the QI wireless charging feature. Having owned many QI devices since its infancy as you might guess I am a big QI fan. So i’ll say this once this is a very impressive cord cutting feature.
Construction is solid and the ear muffs are big and comfy. The fact that these are comfortable with the QI technology. Not heavy at all on the ears when the headset is positioned to your liking. It took me a couple of days to get the right feeling. For me the head part of the headset sits towards the front middle not middle or back of my head. For others that may vary. But the fact remaining with QI enabled on these babies is a God Sin. After two years of use you will see a little wear and tear but nothing to damaging.
The way they are weighted they stand on either side of the ear cups. However, only one side charges on any QI wireless pad that lies flat on a surface. In theory I guess you can use a vertical pad with them (at an angle) although I never tried it.
Now Sound. Now these are the only QI wireless that have 7.1 surround sound. I found another pair of QI headphones called KitSound. They were my second options but the 7.1 Ultimately swayed me to buy the HyperX Cloud.
Speaking of sound. I must confess these are my first 7.1 surround sound headset so I am basing my experience with plain own common sense. They sound great! HyperX software and they sound even better when playing games that they support. I.E Apex which is the game I play, Modern Warfare, Overwatch, PUBG, and others. Music sounds great , games like Forza, Final Fantasy, sounds great.
Software is something to be desired but totally functional and they update it from time to time. However, they sound great without the audio enhancements when using it as a stereo headset.
Headset controls are simple and easy to use. Software also allows you to remap the buttons with the headset to a certain degree. Remapping all 4 buttons was super useful.
Durability is good. Bought these in 2020 took a couple of basic falls and still kicking.
Ear cushions are big and comfy. Can get a little hot when gaming long sessions. A breather every now and then helps.
Listening to music through iTunes is not bad. Furthermore, using any software equalizer greatly improves the sound of these headphones when listening to music. I would say if you want pure enjoyment from the sound only you might want to look elsewhere. Noise cancellation is non-existent. However, if you want that QI function with some other cool functions in a good sounding pair of headphones then this is your Huckleberry.

I'm not sure why headset manufacturers don't come up with a way to store the USB dongle on the headset so it won't get misplaced. I move from computer to computer, depending on the day and on the game I'm playing. I came up with my own solution by applying a thin strip of Velcro to one side of the dongle and the other to the outside of the right ear muff. It works great!
I live in an apartment with concrete walls, so the wireless range for me is much shorter than advertised. The range would probably be longer if the signal was travelling through drywall or wood than cinder block.
I completely recommend this headset to anyone.
PROS: Excellent noise cancellation (it's so good that I cannot hear my own voice at all, which is an awkward feeling for me), awesome sound quality, very comfortable (after breaking it in for a few weeks), great mic sound quality (or so I've been told by my gaming squad), adjustability, good battery life.
CONS: This headset fits rather tightly and I have large ears, so it was uncomfortable for a few weeks until they seemed to loosen up. Now I can go up to about 2 hours without having to adjust the headset around my ears. I wish the mic was able to plug into the right ear muff as well as the left, but that's just a nitpicky thing for me. I know most/all headsets have the mic on the left, only.
Personally, I feel that this headset would be a 5/5, at $100 given its features, build & sound quality. Not quite a 5 star product at MSRP. I used these for about 6 months and plan to to continue using these until they break.
Sound quality:
This is very subjective and a can of worms I don't really want to open. In short, it's good not great. For reference: I enjoy Sony and Master & Dynamic sound signatures. My ideal signature is clear but without shrills and has good bass without being muddy and overwhelming. I've found the HyperX Cloud Flight S to sound decent, but slightly muffled/veiled in comparison to what I typically like. I prefer a sound signatures that follows some what closely to the Harman Curve. If you read Crinacle (In-Ear Fidelity), I generally agree with his opinions more often that not.
Microphone:
I can't comment much on this as I use a dedicated microphone (Samson Q2U--which I have also reviewed on Amazon). I have used the Cloud Flight S mic maybe once or twice in the few months I've owned this headset and I had been told by others that my voice was clear but my breathing was also very loud. This may have just been the lack of adjustment of the mic. The microphone itself is pretty flexible and adjustable, though it does not retract into the headset itself. It is removable which is nice for those who have a dedicated mic.
Ear Cups:
Cushions are thick and reasonably comfortable. It does look a bit goofy on the head given how much width it adds and does feel a bit tight, warm and fatiguing over long sessions. One thing I noticed is that each pad has 4 holes that expose the red cushioning under the pleather wrapping (as shown in a picture). I'm not quite sure of the reasoning behind this (it was like this brand new). The cushions have outer flaps that are secured via tension but is easy to remove.
Wireless Charging / Charging:
Although some call this a gimmick, I call this the new standard. Given how many things people charge these days (laptops, tablets, phones, smart watches), placing the headset on a charging pad is a very nice touch. I purchased my first wireless qi chargers from Amazon years ago (Anker $10 puck like pad), and it works perfectly with this headset. Note that charging the headset does turn it off so its important to keep it topped off. It is a bit of bummer that it is micro USB instead of USB C but that's not the end of the world. Note that wireless charging only works with the left ear cup and does make the outer part of the ear cup warm to the touch.
Software:
**It has been recently updated to run in the System Tray and no longer sits on the task bar**. Prior to this update, the NGENUITY software would have to stay minimized on the task bar in order for it to work. The NGENUITY software is simple and works fine for me, I don't need cloud syncing like I have with Razer Synapse (which gives me more headaches than desired functionality). The application is also downloaded via the Microsoft Store which may be a downer for some who don't like using it; however you do have the added peace of mind that Microsoft supposedly certifies the application (checks for viruses/malware and other issues with the app before it's allowed to go live). The software allows you to adjust volume, microphone volume, mic monitoring (hear yourself talking into your mic), 7.1 mode, or game-chat balance. Game-chat balance appears to basically reduces game volume if you move the balance bar towards chat, and reduces voice chat volume as you move your game-chat balance bar towards game. As far as I can tell, it only works with external voice chat software (I used Discord), and likely doesn't work for games with built-in voice chat.
Other notes:
- The 7.1 is basically a non-feature. Using it makes the headphones sound absolutely awful. Hopefully there's a software update that allows you to rebind the dedicated 7.1 button to some other functionality. IMO, it is really bizzare that HyperX gave a dedicated hardware button to the (non)-functionality.
- Plastic looks cheap up close but decent from a distance. Feels a bit cheap when touched.
- Four buttons can be bound to headset functionality or multimedia functionality. The buttons themselves don't feel particularly special (feels like pressing buttons on a microwave or dishwasher).
- The volume wheel is ratchetted and changes the volume by 2 units (out of 100 on Windows 10) for each ratchet. Note that the ratcheting mechanism has pretty low resistance and find myself turning more than I expected.
- Plugging in the USB receiver leaves an active sound device on your machine (exactly what I wanted). This means I can easily switch between the headphones and my speakers using hot keys with SoundSwitch. I do have to manually press the power button to turn on the headphones, but it beats having to deal with bluetooth pairing or dealing with cables.

As for my experience, sounds amazing, battery life is amazing, the mic monitor + the wireless qi charging is what sold me to this.
I use this as my WFH headset when I have to be in meetings, sound quality for when im talking has been great.
I have a small/medium head, my only complaint is that the "clamp" force of this is on the tighter end but it is by no means uncomfortable.
Also I have my ears pierced with gauges 7/16" and they are still comfortable and they do not bother me.
My one complaint is that when you are using this, the app that you have to use cannot be minimized to your system tray, it stays open on your taskbar.
Aside from that. No issues.

No issues.
