I'm coming from an old PX21 headset from over a decade ago. It's held up well for 10+ years, but it was time to move on to a newer (and comfier) headset. So, here I am with the Recon 200.
I am glad to see that Turtle Beach has maintained their signature mic monitoring feature with the new Recon 200 headset. The monitoring volume is adjustable, clear, and can go loud enough to really keep your own voice level in check while playing even the loudest of games. My only complaint (compared to the PX21) is that the mic appears to be far more sensitive and has a tendency to pick up noises away from your mouth. The old PX21's mic was designed to sit closer to your mouth and did not pick up much (if any) noise that was more than a couple inches away from the actual microphone itself. Not a biggest fan of this change with the new, shorter microphone design.
Anyhow, since there aren't many options for gaming headsets with good mic monitoring / sidetone for console players, this is likely the best one you can get for <$50 USD. I'm highly satisfied and would recommend it to anyone looking for a headset in this price range.
(If you want in-depth info about the audio quality of the Recon 200, I'd suggest reading the SoundGuys review. They did a superb job. In short, this headset has a fairly neutral audio profile, which is common among Turtle Beach headsets. The mic is clear and easily audible to others, but does filter out much of the bass in your voice.)
(Yes, mic monitoring / sidetone can be completely turned off if you don't like this feature. There is an adjustable dial controlling the volume for this specifically (separate from game volume) on the left ear cup.)
(No, there is no delay or lag with mic monitoring / sidetone whatsoever, just like with my old PX21. That's why I like this headset. I use it with my PS4, and plan to use it with the PS5 eventually.)
I was using a wired headset before that didn't need to be charged, so I was a little confused about why this one needed to be charged, but it holds charge great. When I have time to game, I can be on for around 4-6 hours at a time and it has only died on me once, but that was human error since I thought my charging stand was plugged in, but it in fact was not. Other than that, this headset can go a good 16-18 hours on a single full charge. Which is quite great.
I would also like to warn that when you are done gaming, you DO need to turn the headset OFF or it will stay on and lose battery life. Learned THAT the hard way.
It is also adjustable and fits well on my small head (22/f).
The one and only thing I can claim I 'dislike' about this headset is the mic itself. I am used to the mics that you can bend to wherever you like that have the foam muff on the end of them. I do prefer that style since I talk rather softly and prefer to keep the mic closer to my mouth since sometimes this mic style doesn't always pick up my voice.
Other than this, it works great, fits great, is comfortable to wear for long gaming sessions.
Would recommend this product!
Best of luck!

I just want to make the reader understand that I didn't do anything wild to make this occur, and I'm not about soIdering wires on my headset, so it was "finagle" it until it finally kicked the bucket. I think it should've lasted two years with normal wear and tear-, that's why I gave it four stars. I went wireless this time, though. I ordered another Turtle Beach (600 stealth or something) because this one was a high-quality headset and I loved it.

PS4 review
They do seem tight over the ears at first and I’m hoping after long playing periods they don’t hurt but I havent tested this yet.
Sound is great, a lot better than the pdp lvl50 headset I owned before. Volume control in the side. Same charge cord as the controller. I use this for war zone BR and you can hear EVERYTHING because of the noise cancelling effect.
The mic is clear and seems very stable. Crips clear voice with a volume adjust on the side of the headphone.
I will update if anything changes for the negative aspect.
