Lo compre hace ya un par de semanas y la verdad estoy muy contento, es muy rápido y silencioso, no ocupa mucho espacio inluso te lo puedes echar a un bolsillo. El acabdo es de plástico negro con los bordes redondeados, cuenta con un pequeño led que indica si esta en uso o no. creo que no se puede pedir mucho más por su precio, cuenta con 1 tb de capacidad, en mi caso suficiente para guardar copias de los archivos más importantes de mi trabajo. No hace falta instalación de software, lo conectas y punto, lo he probado en windows 7, windows xp y con un reproductor de medios de wd live y funciona muy bien. Lo recomiendo encarecidamente, además tienes la garantía de una gran marca y distribuidor como es Western Digital.
No le he encontrado ningún "Contra". Espero que les sea de utilidad mi opinión.

Très bon produit, conforme à ce que j'attendais: petit, compact, avec une mémoire réelle de 931Go (comme tous les disques durs externes) c'est exactement ce que je voulais et j'en suis content, un bon rapport qualité prix. Là où je suis très mécontent c'est la livraison. Livraison normale, supposée le 15 février par le transporteur Adrexo, je suis resté toute la matinée chez moi sans apercevoir le moindre transporteur jusqu'à ce que je vois en début d'après midi: "tentative de livraison à 11h45". Habitant un petit village, une maison un peu isolée il est impossible de manquer la moindre voiture qui passe, donc je suis quasi certain que le transporteur n'a même pas essayé de délivrer le produit. Qui plus est, même pas d'avis de passage et encore moins de tentative de livraison le jour ouvré suivant, non le produit est directement mis en point relais quelques jours plus tard (c'est à dire aujourd'hui 19 fev). Alors bon, ce n'est pas un drame, j'ai eu mon produit avec quelques jours de retard, je ne m'en offusque pas ça peut arriver mais c'est l'attitude du transporteur qui me rend dingue, surtout que d'après une petite recherche internet sur Adrexo je suis pas le seul à avoir rencontré ce problème. Ca fait plusieurs années que je commande chez Amazon et j'en suis satisfait puisque globalement je n'ai jamais rencontré de souci grave. Je pense simplement qu'ils devraient peut être revoir leurs partenaires de transport avant que ça change...

This drive is 100% OK. High capacity and easy to use - just plug in and go, what could be easier.

Loved the fact that it didn't have any software etc, that 'insists' on automatically being installed (like some drive do). This means you can plug in on any PC and go.

Another great feature is that it does not suffer from drawing too much power. You don't need an external power supply to run just plug into the USB and off you go. Note I've had bad luck with some other 2.5inch external drives that need a high current that refuse to work from some USB port on some PC's.

The WD is very small portable and reliable. I tested out the drive to prove it could work consistently by choosing a PC that does not take other 2.5inch external drives without added power. The WD was plugged in and I formatted it (not quick method) a number of times (about x6) and it performed flawlessly. I copied a large amount of varied data (large files, small files) again a number of times and the WD just breezed through without any hesitation or errors.

Note that with this constant high stress testing the WD only ran a little warm were other drive would have been literally red hot.

Using with USB 2 - I would say its that fastest external drive I've ever used. Didn't use USB 3 as I don't have a PC with USB 3.

Highly recommend this drive and would be buying another for myself.

BTW - It's sells at a good price.

Ich habe meinen Vorrednern eigentlich nicht mehr viel hinzuzufügen, das meiste wurde schon gesagt.

Lange Zeit schielte ich auf ein deutlich teureres Konkurrenzprodukt von Samsung (S2 Portable). Jetzt im Nachhinein halte ich das für völlig unbegründet und frage mich, warum ich nicht schon von Anfang zur  Western Digital Elements SE Portable 1TB externe Festplatte (6,4 cm (2,5 Zoll), USB 3.0)  gegriffen habe, ich bereue den Kauf keinesfalls. Für einen noch erschwinglichen Preis (im Vergleich zu anderen Produkten) bekommt man ein tolles Gerät!

Genutzt wird die externe Festplatte bei mir als ein Backup-Medium an einem USB 2.0 Port meines Notebooks (daher kann ich über keinerlei Erfahrungen mit USB 3.0 berichten). Dabei verrichtet sie ihre Arbeit tadellos. Ich kann nur zustimmen, dass sie währenddessen leise ist, kaum Wärme entwickelt, keine zusätzliche Stromversorgung braucht und gute Datenübertragungsraten liefert (sofern sie denn nicht von meiner eigenen Hardware ausgebremst wird ^.^).

Ich möchte aber auch noch ein paar Tipps und Hinweise geben:

Das mitgelieferte USB 3.0 hat eine Länge von etwa 30 bis 40 Zentimetern, für mich ausreichend, für andere aber vielleicht zu kurz, deshalb weise ich noch einmal darauf hin, falls ein längeres Kabel mitbestellt werden muss.

Legt man beim Betrieb die Hand auf das Gehäuse, spürt man eine gewisse Vibration, was ja auch völlig normal ist, wenn man bedenkt, dass sich im Inneren etwas dreht. Bei mir liegt die Festplatte aber auf einem Schreibtisch aus Holz, welches solche Vibrationen natürlich mit einem penetranten Brummen überträgt. Mir ist aufgefallen, dass die Festplatte einen wackeligen Stand hatte (entweder ist die Tischplatte uneben oder die Standfüßchen des Gehäuses nicht ganz ausgeglichen, ich kann es nicht sagen). Jedenfalls sorgte dies dafür, dass die Vibrationen nicht gut genug gedämpft wurden und dieses tolle Brummen zum Vorschein kam, daher nahm ich kleine Stücke aus Pappe und legte sie an den wackeligen Ecken des Gehäuses unter bis es einen festen Stand hatte und siehe da: Kein nerviges Brummen mehr zu hören (man müsste schon das Ohr ans Gehäuse halten).

Außerdem fiel mir auf, dass die Festplatte ziemlich lange drehte bis sie im Idle irgendwann abschaltet. Mit dem Programm HDDScan z.B., lässt sich diese Zeit deutlich verkürzen (eine Möglichkeit zum Spindown ist bei der Festplatte also vorhanden). Blöderweise blieb diese Einstellung aber nach einem neuen Systemstart nicht gespeichert (bin leider nicht der Profi in diesen Dingen), also ließ ich mir von HDDScan eine Kommandozeile hierfür erstellen, die ich mittels Windows Aufgabenplanung bei jeder neuen Anmeldung mit Admin-Rechten ausführen lasse. Das heißt nach jedem Systemstart wird die kürzere Zeit bis zum Spindown automatisch eingestellt, klappt wunderbar. Dies war mir wichtig, da ja nur einmal in der Woche fürs Backup auf die Festplatte zugegriffen wird und sie sonst ja nur vor sich "hinidlen" würde.

FAZIT für die Lesefaulen:

+ leiser Betrieb
+ schnelle Übertragungsraten
+ geringe Wärmeentwicklung
+ kein Netzteil nötig
+ handlich
+ vergleichsweise erschwinglicher Preis
+ Spindown möglich, wenn auch bedingt
+ angemessen verpackt

~ mitgeliefertes Kabel etwas kurz
