I bought this for my son to use during an extended stay at the hospital (TCH) in Houston. He is getting a bone marrow transplant and is required to be away from home (thereby his friends too) for approximately 3 months. The Xbox has been a wonderful tool for him to play games while chatting with his buds in real-time. The setup has been as easy as plugging in a HDMI cable and going through the setup menu. Graphics and game play have been flawless. We've used this in the hospital, in a hotel and finally in an extended-stay apartment. We've used 3 different wifi connections; including mobile hotspot on our phones. Btw using the mobile hotspot on the phone doesn't use a lot of data as long as it's used for game play only (ie not for downloading the game itself or DLC)...even when using headphones to chat while playing. I(and he) couldn't be happier.

I assume the majority of people shopping for an XBox are already pretty familiar with the devices and their predecessors, so I won't go into too much details except to say it is a really slick, nice package and I'm sure you will love it.

I did have a couple of frustrations though - I had no experience with XBox when I ordered this. My last machine was a PS3. I'm mostly impressed with it, but there were a few oddities in the UI that were not obvious to me and left me frustrated until I figured them out... such as when your game download is in the queue, it doesn't ever resume downloading again (or at least it didn't for me) and you have to select it and press some magic key to bring up a menu to resume the download. Nowhere did I see this explained. It also kept stopping the download... perhaps it was when the TV went into sleep mode... whatever the reason it was frustrating until I figured out how to make it stay awake.

The biggest frustration that might affect some of you, is that I had no idea that the game that "came with it" actually required a 52GB (!!!) download. Out here in the woods where I live, our internet is 10Mbps and we have a monthly data cap of 100GB (some folks have much less). Between the UI issues and the download issues, it took me 2 full days before I could actually play a game on my new console. I was going to return it if my "one last try" did not work - but it did, and now I'm having a lot of fun playing Forza Horizon 3 - but I'm reluctant to buy any more games that require 50GB downloads!

I bought this Xbox One S 1TB console for playing whole bunches of Xbox One games. I connected Xbox 3TB external hard drive. USB speed is kind of slower than what I expected to work with S model. X model has better USB speed. This one is kind of middle range for data transfer rate between external USB hard drive. That causes some games to crash frequently. Other than that, it never let me down. I bought 4 Xbox One systems.

I always told myself, I would never buy an X Box! When I bought this and started playing, I fell in love!! I used to hate Xbox controllers, but now that they have been redesigned and are slimmer and more comfortable, they fit perfectly in my hands. I'm 6 foot 2 and PlayStation controllers are simply just too small. Microsoft did exceptionally well, and manage to convert another PlayStation person over to XBox!!! And I'm thankful it happened.
