I bought this product from Amazon because of how great they are to work with, if there's a problem. My 'beef' isn't with Amazon, its with Triplenet, from whom I purchased the Microsoft Office Home & Student. I have a new laptop and needed to download this software. I CAREFULLY entered the correct website, following the instructions, entered the keycode, and was directed to a page to call a number, which I did. The man on the phone said he'd need to 'capture my computer' to find out why the program didn't download and install. Nope, nope, nope. I know better than that, so I told him, "I'm not comfortable with that' and hung up. He called me back, I said, No, I won't let you capture my computer.

I called Amazon, they contacted Triplenet, who emailed me. I described the issue, and a couple days later, their email said I needed to contact Microsoft about the issue, and they could't receive the package because it had been opened. WELL, HELLO, of course I opened it, so I could use it!

My husband did some searching online and found that the Microsoft program, Office Home and Student has had many such issues, with the website connecting folks to spam sites...the exact issue I had, but Microsoft is doing nothing to mitigate this problem. We called our son, head of IT with a large company, and he went directly to the Microsoft, plugged in the website, used the keycode, and was able to download and install the program safely.

Why didn't I call my son in the first place? I've had no problems in the past safely downloading and installing programs. So, I have the program, its working, but fair warning.....DO NOT buy and install this program apart from going directly to Microsoft, do not buy this program from Triplenet. Also, the program is now $30 cheaper through other sellers. JUST DON'T download without going directly to Microsoft.

I retired from teaching at the end of May 2020. As a teacher, my school district provided us with free Microsoft 365 Office Software. After I retired, I no longer had logon credentials with my district. I learned this the hard way because I saw that ALL my Microsoft files were licensed to my former school district. Though all my personal files were stored on my computer at home, I removed the school district license. Then I discovered that I could not open ANY Microsoft files at all. I bought this allegedly "stand alone" version of MS Office, because I didn't want to get an subscription. I have my own license, and now everything is groovy.

Soon MS Office 2010 will not be supported by MS so it is time to update with latest version. I do not like the subscription version so MS Office 2019 H&S is the best alternative for my purposes. Once installed most of the functions were familiar and the old Word files could be loaded in compatability mode. Hopefully this new version will serve my needs as long as the old version.
