Beware of Battery Issue

Beware of Battery Issue
While the Surface does work fairly well, I'd caution about a battery issue. The battery malfunctions and swells causing the case to crack. Microsoft is giving a three year warranty for this known issue, so if you plan to keep your surface more than three years - BEWARE. My surface developed this problem (see pic) 6 months past the extended warranty, so I get nothing. Microsoft wouldn't even give me a decent discount on a new surface, so bye-bye Surface as I'll be replacing it with either an HP or Dell.

This is a quality laptop. I like the look and feel of it and its weight to size ratio is really decent. I like these better then the Surface Pro's - can actually use it on your laptop vs it being harder with the Surface Pro style tablet.

I don't mind if it doesn't work, if it was faulty for some reason. But when I try to send a message it just keeps sending error try again later. Without a way to contact them, how am I supposed to get a replacement or solve the problem? This seems really sketchy to me.

Computer randomly restarts every couple hours. Contacted support five times and no one can fix it. Occasionally it turns off and needs to be hard reset. No excuse for a product that costs this much to be this flawed and apparently unfixable.

Update: got a replacement from microsoft and this one randomly shuts off, says there is no installed battery, and has trouble connecting to the internet.
