When it comes to something as vital as your eyes, you don't want to skimp on quality. These glasses are reasonably priced, and I would strongly caution against going for cheaper models. Your eyes are invaluable, and these glasses are a small investment for something so crucial.
Manufactured by American Paper Optics, these glasses have the seal of approval from the American Astronomical Society and are ISO-compliant. This is a brand that millions trusted for the 2017 Total Solar Eclipse, and I can see why. The glasses have been independently tested and verified by ICS Laboratories under the most current standard, ISO 12312-2:2015(E), which makes them certified for direct observation of the sun. This provides a level of assurance and peace of mind that is indispensable when it comes to protecting your eyes.
Having the CE and ISO certification means you can watch the total solar eclipse or engage in direct sun viewing with absolute confidence in your eye safety. The glasses are not just a protective tool; they are an essential piece of equipment for anyone interested in astronomy or celestial events.
In summary, these Soluna Solar Eclipse Glasses offer top-notch safety features, reasonable pricing, and the backing of reputable organizations. They are made in the USA and meet all the safety standards for direct sun viewing. I highly recommend them for anyone looking to safely enjoy the marvels of our solar system.
We'll be using them again for the April eclipse of 2024
I ordered these for the partial solar eclipse and surprised my friends, and everyone loved them. Very effective, no headache or painful vision during or after use. they aren't the most comfortable to wear, but they're made of poster board and only on for a few minutes at a time, so I don't consider that to be a major concern.
There were lots of people who were unprepared for eclipse viewing, so we shared several of these when we finished which was greatly appreciated, and since they were a great price I was happy to pass them along!
Top reviews from other countries
Even though these are up to 6x more expensive than others (or more!), there's no way I'm risking my family's vision on cheap eclipse glasses!
Fingers crossed for nice weather on the day of the eclipse!
PS: Nice to see the price dropped (sad it didn't before I purchased them...), this will hopefully let everyone use good glasses to look at the eclipse
