I bought these to view the total eclipse as we were in the path of totality. There were many news reports about buying legitimate glasses that would not hurt your eyes when viewing the sun. These met all specifications and worked great. I wish they made a kids version as they had to hold the sides of the glasses to keep them on but that is my only criticism. Overall, they allowed us to safely view the show in the sky. Very happy with the product and would highly recommend....

Don't believe the negative reviews! I asked Lunt directly about the wrinkled lenses. This was their response... "We do not stretch our film during manufacturing as it can cause striations which can result in a less than optimal viewing experience.
It is perfectly normal to have wrinkles in the film and as long as there are no hard creases or pinhole pricks in the film, they are safe to use."
We used them and they were 100% safe!

American Astronomical Society (AAS) just released a warning (March 22, 2024) about fake solar glasses that aren’t safe for your eyes, with a list of good brands. Lunt is on the list of safe companies, using TSE17 as their manufacturer. I’ve been a Lunt customer for over a decade having first purchased a solar telescope from them, glasses for the 2018 eclipse and again for this eclipse. These glasses are safe per AAS, but not every company’s is safe. Before purchasing any product check out AAS’s list of safe brands - theses are your eyes and if you damage them by looking at the sun there is no going back. Can’t wait for the eclipse!
