Science Fun for Days!
This ended up being a nice science set for us. It comes in a sturdy box that can easily double as storage, all the lab items and many of the consumable supplies needed and a book full of experiments to try. We opened it up and started at the beginning. My eight year old found it easy to read through and follow the step by step instructions and to his delight the experiments have worked flawlessly so far. His favorite so far is "How to Switch on a LED using a lemon". We have more experiments to do (he's most looking forward to "how to cook a square egg"). This can easily stretch over many days of fun or even be adapted for use as the lab portion of a homeschool science curriculum if desired. We found the included supplies to be suitable student quality materials. We've had no problem with anything we've used. For almost all experiments, you will need to provide some supplies such as consumables (they can't exactly ship a lemon or half a slice of bread), but so far we've found these to be fairly typical kitchen items or easily purchased inexpensively. We had no problem the first day doing a number of experiments right out of the box.Can you do these using online searches and buying your own supplies? Of course. But this does the work for you of putting everything together very nicely, with many of the supplies in a organized manner (and with some cool ideas we hadn't thought of (like a lemon juice fueled rocket). My science loving son was delighted and I found it a very worthwhile kit to buy.
