Product Description
LEARN TO PLAY IN UNDER 2 MINUTES
Watch How to Play Spaceteam
Spaceteam is a quick-to-learn, quick-to-play game. You can learn how to play in under 2 minutes, and gameplay lasts 5 minutes or less. Watch the how to play video to see how a typical game is played. Learn and explore more of the details of Spaceteam below.
Use Your Space Tools to Fix Your Spaceship
Everyone starts with Tool Cards in their hand, and each tool is unique. These are used to fix malfunctions around your spaceship. They also have ridiculous names that are hard to say, so get ready to scream these nonsensical words at your friends.
Find the Right Tool to Fix the Current Malfunction
Malfunction cards identify issues on your spaceship, as well as the tools needed to resolve then. Place the required Tool Cards next to the Malfunction Card to repair it. But, you might not have all the Tool Cards that you need, and that's where your Spaceteam comes in.
Find What You Need While Also Helping Everyone else
Coordinate with your Spaceteam to find the necessary Tools to resolve Malfunctions in your sector. Tool cards can only be passed through adjacent players. But be careful, although all Malfunctions call for Tools, they don't always have their name. You may have to describe them too.
Build the Spaceship to Win
As you fix Malfunctions, you'll uncover parts of the spaceship. Your Spaceteam wins if you reveal all 6 System Go Cards hidden within your Malfunction deck in under 5 minutes. If you fail, you'll be sucked into a black hole forever.

Games of 'Spaceteam' are short but frenetic, making it a great go-to for impromptu pick-up games or for game nights when things wrap up earlier than expected.
'Spaceteam' scales well with its advertised 3-6 players (or even more if you use the expansions, although we thought that 4-6 players is the game's 'sweet spot').
Its cooperative play, which puts emphasis on social interaction, and the pace and hilarity of game play, make 'Spaceteam' suitable for use as a 'party game' at small gatherings, even among players who aren't really serious board gamers.
'Spaceteam' is a relatively simple game, and while it's described as suitable for ages 12 and up, I think that a lot of kids below that age could pick up on the rules pretty easily.
At its current pricing, 'Spaceteam' has a cheap buy-in and offers a good value. It won't require a huge investment to add this title to your collection-- and it won't take up a lot of space on your shelf, either, which is always a concern at my casa.
There are a couple of minor criticisms, too.
First of all, people who have difficulty processing fast-paced events happening more or less simultaneously may feel overwhelmed by 'Spaceteam.'
You're liable to shout a lot while playing 'Spaceteam,' so this might not be the game to play while baby is napping.
Players need to be able to pass cards to each other or move freely around the table, so 'Spaceteam' might not be the best game to play in a tight breakfast nook or when seated in a booth. Three or four players facing each other across an absurdly long dining table might be in for a cardio workout.
'Spaceteam' isn't a good game to play while multitasking. I'd plan on turning the TV off and putting the phone away (and not being rude to your friends LOL).
On a note completely unrelated to this review of the base set, we own both of the expansions for 'Spaceteam' and they're both great-- and I especially liked that both expansions fit within the box for the basic set.
This one's a no-brainer. If you're reading this and thinking about buying 'Spaceteam,' go ahead and pull the trigger!

We bought this as a Christmas present and played several rounds on Christmas day! Cant wait to get a group together again to play it.
The cards are good quality and look just right - there's no question what you're looking at, even if you have to try and describe "that purple space hopper with the handlebars" to your team. The extra game mechanics make it even more ridiculous, too.
The box is slick, with some nice art, build quality that some more complex games could do with, and space for the expansions (hint, hint).
I'd really recommend this for any group - family, social, work or boardgames.
Ps: The parcel came from the US o it took a while to be delivered
Everyone enjoyed the game, some people were initially less interested because of the long sciencey words, but once you get into it all of the fun is in trying to describe what you need.
I would strongly recommend getting this game for any group of 4 or more. It's customisable so you can edit the difficulty. (Different timer lengths, different deck set ups) we had a good mix of easy and difficult frantic games. (We played with all adults).
It can get very loud, has excellent replay factor and the short learning time and quick play time makes it a perfect game to take along on Christmas day or pull out on an evening in.
