    So much fun, especially for HP fans!

    So much fun, especially for HP fans!
    I played this combined with the HP expansion set, but this is, of course, a complete game on its own. My wife and I enjoyed playing!Positive attributes:-Great two player game!!! I am constantly looking for games that I can play with my wife, and two player games are really hit or miss. With the base game, you can play with 4 people, but this is really fun with two. We each had three characters to control since we played with the expansion, so we were loaded down with a lot of choices for strategy, which is great.-SO MANY BITS! This game is awesome for all the little high quality pieces. The player pieces, of course, are awesome. But the point markers, player cards, scenario cards, items, dice, and everything else are so great! Getting a point is such a tactile moment because you pick up a blue crystal to add to your pile. And moving the big head pieces around is really fun.-The potential for mixing and matching characters and games is really exciting. I'm imaging playing a game where Bellatrix is partnered with Blanche from the Golden Girls, and it makes me laugh.-The game board is great- awesome artwork, interesting set up, and you get two options as the board is reversible.-Mechanics and game play are easy, but fun. The first few moves as you spread out your pieces on the board are pretty straightforward, but they get more complex. And the individual powers make decisions interesting."Not so positive, but still not a problem" attribute:The scenarios and some of the goals could be a bit more thematic. One scenario is basically "capture the flag" with a side of retrieving points on the board marked A-D. I understand that some of the themes are probably generic because they will be making an infinite number of versions for different fandoms, but it would have been awesome if a bit more effort was put into theming these scenarios. There's a little vague blurb at the top of each scenario that tries to sell it, but I would have liked to be trying to steal or protect actual thematic items (like horcruxes) instead of tokens with A-D printed on them. But, once again, the A-D point pieces are used in many of the scenarios, so assigning them as an actual thematic item might limit their use, or complicate their use over multiple scenarios. All that said, I felt like the HP kids and villains were playing capture the flag instead of battling it out over something thematic.This game will surely please fans of strategy games, and buying a version from their fandom heightens the enjoyment a great deal! My wife and I really like Harry Potter, and it was fun to add commentary and imagination as the characters face off or chase after each other.

    5.0 out of 5 stars We enjoyed it!
    Reviewed in the United States on November 4, 2019
    I had seen this product in a store, but ended up ordering it here. I'm a Harry Potter fan, though this is my first experience with Funko. We have begun having family game night every Sunday and we're looking for games our kids can play with us that aren't just basic games. We have a 7 yo and a 5 yo. The game took a little for the 7 yo to get into, and the 5 yo definitely cannot play on his own, but, since this game can be played in teams, it works!

    I think that we got the hang of this game the second time we played. If we had just been playing with adults, I think we would have had it in no time, but everything is more complicated with children. That being said, we did enjoy it and will like having it in our growing game collection. This game would be fun with kids, or just adults. It begins to be more interesting as you get more strategic.

    The figures are super cute and very detailed. I have had no previous experience with Funko, so I was really surprised by how well these are made and the detail. It is really neat that their hands are able to hold the items them come with the game (Felix Felicis and a dagger). I'm thinking that we may by the Harry Potter expansion pack that has Ron and Malfoy to go with this!

    Il manuale è ben fatto, e si trova anche online in .pdf, ma è completamente in inglese, quindi serve un minimo di dimestichezza con la lingua per capirlo. Bastano però pochi minuti per leggere le prime pagine ed iniziare a giocare. Una volta capito un po’ le regole principali si può, infatti, iniziare subito a giocare senza usare le carte scenario, che aumentano un po’ la complessità del gioco. Se utilizzando gli scenari ci sono infatti vari modi per acquisire punti, senza gli scenari basta mandare K.O. i personaggi dell’avversario per vincere, senza dover acquisire punti. Il gioco è un gioco di strategia, ben congegnato, con regole non troppo difficili ma in buon numero, di modo che bisogna far funzionare il cervello per vincere. I giocatori possono essere da 2 a 4, e se si gioca in due si possono usare da 1 a 3 personaggi (4 se si ha anche l’espansione).
    Devo dire che per me, che ancora non ricordo bene a memoria tutte le regole, giocando in 2 con 3 personaggi a testa e senza scenari una partita dura 20-25min.
    Per mettere K.O un personaggio avversario bisogna sconfiggerlo a duello per 2 volte consecutive, il che non è così scontato, in quanto i personaggi hanno delle abilità per cui possono far “rinsavire” gli alleati. Se si gioca con 3 personaggi, il giocatore che inizia parte facendo svolgere due azioni ad un personaggio (es.: auror). Muovere un personaggio di 2 spazi, ad esempio, equivale a compiere un’azione, sfidare a duello un personaggio avversario vale un’altra azione. Ogni personaggio deve svolgere due azioni consecutivamente, oppure il giocatore può deliberatamente scegliere di fargliene fare solo una o nemmeno una, in ogni caso quando termina il turno di un personaggio devo mettere sulla sua carta un segnalino “esausto”. Dopodiché il turno passa al personaggio avversario (es.: Bellatrix) che svolge le sue azioni fino a diventare esausto, così il turno passa ad un personaggio dell’altra squadra (es.: Hermione) e così via, fino a che tutti i personaggi non sono esausti. A questo punto si cambia round e l’altro giocatore inizia il suo turno, scegliendo un nuovo ordine con cui usare i suoi personaggi, non è obbligatorio usare sempre lo stesso ordine. Sulle istruzioni sono spiegate molto bene tutte le regole di “adiacenza” e su come effettuare le “sfide”.
    Com’è successo a me, possono suscitarvi qualche dubbio le abilità speciali (incantesimi) dei personaggi principali. Ad esempio, la carta di Bellatrix permette al personaggio di scagliare l’incantesimo Confundo, per il quale bisogna usare un segnalino azione grigio che va posto sulla “cooldown track” in posizione 3 (di round in round scenderà di una posizione, fino a tornare nella mano del giocatore che potrà riutilizzarlo per sferrare un incantesimo) e che comporta, come indicato dalla stella a 8 punte posta di fianco al nome dell’incantesimo, un duello. Il duello è range 4 (vale a dire che Bellatrix può colpire un bersaglio che si trova al massimo 4 caselle più in là) e challenge 2 (vale a dire che l’attaccante lancia 2 dadi). A questo punto, se l’attaccante vince il duello, verrà posta sul bersaglio la tesserina di Confundo, per cui al prossimo turno in cui il bersaglio sceglierà di usare un incantesimo, il costo di questo incantesimo sarà maggiorato di uno, vale a dire che il segnalino azione per quell’incantesimo verrà posto sulla cooldown track di una posizione più in alto. L’incantesimo Confundo di Bellatrix non porta il bersaglio ad essere knocked-down. Un altro effetto che potrebbe essere poco chiaro è quello dell’incantesimo Oppungo di Voldemort, che permette ad un alleato che è visibile da Voldemort entro 4 caselle di svolgere un’azione base. In questo caso è importante sapere che l’alleato può svolgere questa azione anche se è già esausto. Non voglio tediarvi più di così con le regole, vi ho solo illustrato qualcosa che a me appariva dubbioso alla sola lettura delle istruzioni. Per qualsiasi altro chiarimento, chiedetemi pure. Tornando a descrivere un po’ il gioco, devo dire che le pedine in 3D sono bellissime, ma forse un po’ troppo grandi per le caselle del tabellone. Altra considerazione che faccio, ma che forse avrete già intuito, è che le istruzioni sono ben fatte ma non proprio esaustive.

    PRO: Giocabilità, materiali, particolari;

    CONTRO: Istruzioni non completamente esaustive; pedine troppo grandi;

    CONCLUSIONI: Bellissimo! Lo consiglio, è sia un pezzo da collezione sia un bel gioco da tavolo.
