If you liked becoming high powered and hard to kill in HZD, you will miss that in this game. Aloy’s power and defenses are kept more in line with her adversaries (or harder to level up) in this game. It makes for better gameplay, but it is a little disappointing after finishing HZD basically on god mode.
Only lousy things about this game are the bits that weren’t ready for public production. The map doesn’t display information consistently (some places turn green when you complete them some places display a new symbol when missions are complete, others don’t), which can leave you wasting hours trying to figure out what you’ve missed, when you haven’t missed anything at all. Supplies are often found inside solid objects you can get through to get the supplies. As you get to the end of the game, the NPC archers get annoyingly good, with reaction times only possible if they can read your controller inputs.
That said, what a remarkable, engrossing, expansive world of adventures. I spent 160 hours playing through this (I’m bad at games, and very distracted by side quests), and I couldn’t stop. Really enjoyable, addicting, rewarding game. Buy your spouse something nice because you won’t be around much for awhile.

Ignore the negative reviews because not everybody who has reviewed this game has played the whole game through, rather a few hours. I think its fair to say you should review the game once you have played it through properly.
The graphics are amazing and you can tell developers have put in alot of time and work and I dont regret spending the money to play this game. The game expands upon first game in every way. The story is amazing and the side quests are more interesting unlike some games (assassins creed). The map is massive and there is much to explore in the wild west. There are a range of weapons you can use but you need to level up by doing main and side quests as well as upgrading your weapons. You will need to use different weapons for different enemies depending on there weaknesses. There is also a skill tree where you can upgrade your skills to your own liking. There are some parts of the game liike the tailneck in the middle of nowhere where you cannot reach it at the start or middle of the game. You will have to complete more main quests in order explore certain areas of the game (but your not told that).
The ocean is an amazing place. Best Ive seen in a game. The music is incredible to. I love the soundtrack. My favourite is track of the game is: The World on her shoulders.
I don't really have any bad points to say about the game apart from the climbing can be abit frustarating at times but nothing to bad.
I cannot wait for the next and final game!!!
Will be amazing to see what the developers come up with next. Although will be years away, I can't wait to play it.
If your thinking about buying this game, dont hesitate buy it worth the money if you like story games.
Definitely worth a pickup for any RPG fan, but especially for fans of the first game!
There's no point reviewing Amazon's delivery service, the high winds in the South of the UK meant that all shipments for 18th Feb were delayed, so I did received this game on the 19th, despite the tracking not working. For obvious reasons, I will forgive Amazon completely for this as they have no control over the weather, and I am very grateful I managed to receive the game on the following day despite there still being fairly high winds all weekend.
I love the Horizon world, its back story and scope for the future, but whenever I play I just can't shake the feeling that the developers got a little fed up of this game. I mean, there are some quite glaringly obvious short cuts which were taken in the game that it is hard to deny. Some character skins in the game are reused for different characters, with very minor changes, and even using the same voices. Then the dialogue for some characters just seem, lazily done. Like running out of things to say but they must say something. And some quests appear outright broken if try to complete them, until you find out later that the reason the quest appears broken is because you have to do it in a specific manner the game has set out.
Don't get me wrong, there is a lot to love about this game. The Vistas are stunning, the music is simply awesome and the story, while a little confusing to track, does offer some new and tantalising storylines which I assume will be used in the future. Again, there is a lot to like here.
Does this game get top marks? Not for me. It isn't quite up there with Zero Dawn but it does make for an enjoyable continuation of the world and will be enjoyed by anyone who loved the first game and subsequent add on.
The graphics are superb on PS5
The audio is cinema quality
The gameplay is engaging and satisfying. I am never bored taking out the machines and the loot feels generous and rewarding.
If there was anything negative about this game it would be the climbing mechanics. Sometimes Aloy just simply won’t reach or grasp for something that is so obviously in reach. The game doesn’t seem to know how the player wants to move when climbing.
Other than this very minor negative the game is fantastic and if you are on the fence then buy it. AC Valhalla isn’t even remotely close to this. The closest comparison I can draw would be Ghosts of Tsushima which is also an exceptionally good game.
