Review

"As much of a wisecracker as she is woman warrior.” - New York Times

"Here in these newly minted Tank Girl editions stands Hewlett’s art as it was originally presented. Raw, powerful, and totally screwed-up bonkers. It’s beautiful black and white cartooning at its best and it’s one of the biggest reasons I fell in love with this book." -

Being somewhat a cult comic fan, I'm always on the lookout for REALLY original looking stuff. So when I heard about "Tank Girl," I HAD to check it out. This compilation series starts off with Alan Martin, the writer of Tank Girl, giving an introduction talking about the source of inspiration for Tank Girl among other things. The series itself is pretty random and childish, but also very funny, violent, sexy and stylish. It's mostly about a girl in her early twenties driving a highly armed tank around a post-apocalyptic Australia. Lots of boozing, nudity and kangaroo jokes.
This volume shows all the Tank Girl stuff from the first 8 issues of Deadline in the original black and white forms, which can be problem because :
A.) Some of the words are sort of faded, but not too bad.
B.) All you people who constantly demand to see color in movies, comics and music will be sorely disappointed.
Anyway, as a newcomer to the series, I was happy with it, but for the rest of you veteran fans, there's probably not too many reasons for you to replace the previous compilations you bought years ago with this one.

Loved it. Awesome art, super fun plot and hilarious script. Paper and print quality is really good, I generally prefer paper that is not glossy.
Maybe 5 stars are too much but i feel like 4 is just not enough. I would really prefer 9 over 10!

After seeing the movie Tank Girl I had to check out the comics, yeah yeah I know. I actually love the movie. Either way so far I am really liking this comic although the story is a little hard to follow. There are a lot of references to pop culture and some UK lingo I don't quite understand but the amazing artwork makes up for all of it. Even if the comic didn't have words I'd buy it for the artwork alone. I will be re-reading this one for sure :D

The story is funny, and kinda crude but you probably knew that if your looking at this. I mainly like it for the kookie stuff an the art work by Hewlett who done work for the gorillaz. I really like his art style and that's the original reason for me picking this up

I read the whole thing in a day! Tank girl is charming and gross at the same time and I love it! The comics in this book have more of a plot than the ones in book 2, I am about to start book 3. Currently this is my favorite one.

This is a must-read comic, definitely worth having in your library, would recommend to all, although it can be a bit cheeky at times. This trilogy is at least the minimum amount of tank girl one should have read.

I love Tank Girl! She has a crazy attitude but does show some very tiny soft spots in her personality. Funny, witty, stylish!! Anyway, i ordered some of the books that arrived in great condition. They arrived in the timeframe specified and i thoroughly enjoy them. I plan on continuing to add to the collection here and there when possible.
