Other reviewers have mentioned that they have had trouble getting these to work and so therefore tell you not to waste your money. I had the same issue with these and the PlayStation Platinum headset that I was using prior to getting these. The headset cutting out or not working was the reason I bought a new headset. The real reason for this was my USB ports on my PS4 were dirty. Be sure to clean these and make sure this isn't the reason your current headset is failing before buying another headset and it will save you a lot of headaches. Once my USB ports were cleaned, I had no problems with this headset.

The battery life is VERY long with this headset. The headsets I've had in the past have only lasted about 6-8 hours before I have to charge them. I haven't measured the time myself on how long these last, but I've been able to use them for multiple game sessions over several days without having to charge them. Very nice to have when you're doing a very long activity in a game and not have to stop to plug in your headset.

Sound quality is not the best, at least in comparison to the PlayStation Platinum headset. The bass isn't that loud and the speakers seem to be more on the treble side of sound. It's a little to get used to after the Platinum's but they still allow me to hear footsteps well enough in Call of Duty to keep from getting snuck up on.

For volume control there is only a single wheel to control master volume. When the headset is turned on it resets to a default volume so if you want it louder then you have to turn it up everytime you turn it on. For voice/game mix, you'll have to resort to the sliders that are in game or in your system settings.

These are very comfortable to wear. They are over the ear and have softer pads on them than I'm used to on other headsets. I wear glasses and the discomfort from them is nothing different from other headsets. The headband seems to be made very well. It's plastic with a pad for your head, but it's more rigid than the PlayStation Gold headset (which broke almost right away).

The microphone is on an arm and the only way to mute it is to swing it up away from your face. Honestly I like this because with mics that have a mute button, I keep forgetting that i've muted my mic and talk to no one. With this mic, I have a very clear visual indicator on whether it's muted or not.

I bought this headset because it keeps coming up on top 10 lists for gaming headsets. I only use it on my PS4 and do not have a PC to use this on. So my review is for the PS4 use only.

Daily issues with pc use

I have had this headset for about a year now. I bought it for gaming on my desktop. There has not been a single day without an issue with this headset, for the entire year of me owning it. Everytime I turn my computer on I have to unplug the wireless usb dongle from my computer and back in. This is because niether discord nor any game I play with microphone input will recognize the headset’s microphone until I unplug and replug the dongle. Sometimes the headset just doesnt output audio until I turn it off and on and unplug the dongle a few times. I feel kinda childish in complaining about having to unplug and replug a dongle everytime I want to use my headset. But this headset isnt cheap. I figured by spending more with a reputable company I would have less issues than if I bought a cheaper headset. Anyway, I don’t reccomend you buy this headset for gaming or speaking on discord. Unless you would like to make unplugging and replugging a dongle as how you turn your computer on and wake it from sleeping.

TLDR; I troubleshoot getting this headset to work as intended everytime I begin using it. Unless you like constantly troubleshooting and being frustrated, this headet isn’t for you.

Edit dec 2023: I still have the same issue with this headset every-time I try to use it. Drivers are always up-to-date. Yet I still have to unplug and replug the wireless dongle to get the mic to work every-time I turn my computer on.

These headphones are great when they work properly, however I almost always have to take the dongle out and put it into a different port every single time I boot up my pc with these. Super annoying, sometimes PC won't recognize them at all and I have to go thru hoops to get them to connect. Also, I've had them for about 7 months now, and they have suddenly decided to stop taking charge. Headphones have no response to being plugged in to be charged, and I'm not sure they're gonna be usable much longer. Not worth it to buy these.

I purchased this headset in February 2021 and it came stock with firmware 2.12, but after upgrading to 2.21 (released June 2020) using the EPOS Gaming Suite (for Windows) the USB dongle now automatically reconnects to the headset after Windows reboots or goes to sleep. This is a game changer!

The firmware update also enables mic side tone support which was a pleasant surprise.

The audio quality and battery life alone on these cans is w o n d e r f u l !

My partner and I both got a pair and they regularly connect to the others dongle, then we try swapping and a few days later it happens again. I really wish I could recommend these headphones because they sound great, but the software means I will never be buying a Sennheiser headset for my computer ever again.

Connaissant la qualité et la réputation des produits Sennheiser, je me suis très naturellement laissé tenter par ce casque-micro, d'autant qu'il formulait une promesse de taille : une autonomie de 100h.

Pour ce point, effectivement ce n'est pas un mensonge, l'autonomie est réellement monstrueuse. C'est d'ailleurs impressionnant.

Le casque n'est pas du tout désagréable visuellement. Il est relativement sobre, sans fioritures ni chichis. Le micro relevable qui se coupe lorsqu'il est en position levée est bien pratique. C'est une fonctionnalité que j'apprécie et il est donc aisé de voir si votre micro est activé ou non de ce fait (contrairement à d'autres casques où c'est un bouton poussoir situé à l'arrière du casque...).

Pour ce qui est du reste, malheureusement j'ai été contraint de tout de même renvoyer le produit pour plusieurs raisons :

- les coussinets ne sont pas très confortables, compte tenu du fait que je porte des lunettes. Des coussinets en tissu auraient été préférables ;

- la signature sonore du casque ne me convient franchement pas : trop de basses, un son émoussé pour ce qui est du reste. Une impression de son "étouffé". Je n'ai pas aimé du tout.

- le volume du micro est très modéré. Il n'y a pas beaucoup de marge de manœuvre.

- le logiciel Epos Gaming Suite est très moyen.
