There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
It cost $54 back then and still nothing matches it.
One last note: R2Q5 sounds can’t be activated with the Sphero edu app. He was the neglected droid.

I have to say it's an impressive piece of kit. It's not huge, standing less than 7 inches tall, but not tiny either. It feels solid and well put together and it looks perfect (perhaps not the finish you can get with build you own models costing ten times more but good none the less).
It comes beautifully packed in a solid premium box (that i will be keeping should it store it at some stage). Set-up is very easy; simply plug the usb into a usb charging plug or device, download the app on your device (I used an Ipad Pro) and connect it. It updates the firmware and then Artoo is all yours.
Using it is very easy. There are various modes including a remote control mode, a patrol mode where Artoo will wander around by himself, an AR mode (which feels fairly tacked on really) and a viewing mode where he will react to key moments in the movies. Thee is also a sphero education app that allows you to control r2 via a block based code editor or JavaScript. I’ve yet to play with this but will be messing with the JavaScript based editor soon.
Artoo himself is lovely. His movement is spot on and the retractable third leg adds a real air of authenticity. His sounds and head movements feel totalkly authentic. He's a truly great fun toy for fans of all ages.
Overall I am delighted with it, it will get lots of attention and look great on the shelf when it doesn't. I have given it 5 stars because I do love it but my one caveat would be the price. It is quite a lot to pay and i can understand this makes it a premium product and not for everyone. If resources allow though and you love Star Wars and Artoo? Well worth it!
Thank you Amazon
