Fits PS5 perfect with different brand heatsink. Update: Bricked. Update: Fixed
Additional Update 8/16/2021: Adata pulled down the firmware update from their page, spent 2 days and fixed the issue adding it back to the site. I have confirmed that the newest firmware update program no longer bricks the 2TB drives. It does not update them either as it reports the drives running 3.2.F.P7 do not need updated. Tests have been ran by other users to confirm that the performance fixes from 3.2.9.1 are present in the 3.2.F.P7 firmware. So I can once again highly recommend this drive. The price has went up since when I purchased it for $309, but even at $329, this is still one of the best priced 2TB drives with this performance level available right now.Additional Update 8/7/2021: I tracked down the exact problem. The 2TB drives are shipping with firmware 3.2.F.P7 and if you attempt to update from 3.2.F.P7 to 3.2.9.V it will brick your drive. I have found a forum where a bunch of other people have also ended up with bricked drives and are being given the run around by ADATA support who is not acknowledging this problem. Only update to the latest firmware if your SSD comes with 3.2.7.3 on it. That will work fine. ADATA needs to acknowledge this issue and rapidly fix it, because right now their official firmware tool that anyone at all can download will brick their most expensive drives. Lowering to 2 star until this issue is fixed. A drive with an official software update that will kill it cannot be recommended.Review Update 8/7/2021: So I was told I should update the firmware on this drive as the latest version will provide better performance as well as thermals. Doing so completely bricked the SSD. I have two of them, and I stupidly thought this might be a fluke with one drive, so I also updated the firmware of the second drive and it bricked as well. It would proceed with the firmware update using their official tool, made it about 50% of the way through, then threw an error that said "Firmware update failed." then the drive itself changed to "Disconnect" and all the specs for it vanished. At this point the PC will no longer boot at all when the drive is plugged into it, and the PS5 will take 5 minutes to boot and will no longer detect the drive at all. So both of my drives are dead. I am going to send them back, order another, and ask adata support how I am supposed to update firmware.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------By default this will not fit into the PS5 as the included heatsink is too tall, and the product description says that the heatsink cannot be removed. That is only partially true. The top part of the heatsink can easily be unscrewed and slid off without a problem, which is the part that makes it not fit into the PS5.The bottom part is the part that cannot be removed. Once removing the top part I was easily able to install a better quality low profile heatsink to replace it and then it fit inside the PS5 perfectly. So for those wondering, this can indeed be used in the PS5, just not out of the box. It requires an additional purchase of a slim heatsink to replace the tall beast that comes on this by default. I went with the icepc graphine coated copper heatsink that is 1.5mm tall.

This SSD drive 1TB version died on me in only 6 months! It freezes my PS5, random shut offs, and random restarts and has to "rebuild the database every time this PS5 turns on. I have tried starting the warranty replacement process but have not heard back from the manufacturer despite starting the process and then sending an inquiry as to the next step. At this point I don't recommend this drive due to short life span. Before this started it was working great no issues. Includes the heatsink and attached it. PS5 games played fast and was great having the extra storage. Then one day this just randomly started 6 months later and warranty hasn't responded. I'll update with new info if warranty helps resolve this.

I originally sat on getting an SSD because they were so pricey. I get the 1TB SSD aren’t to steep in price but I feel like with PS5 and next gen 1TB isn’t enough and will take all that space up quickly. Especially if you are a gamer like myself. Plus I had a external 2TB hard drive(from the PS4 generation) granted you could only play PS4 games on it and store PS5 games but not play them. I finally pulled the trigger seeing the 2TB XPG Gammix S70 Blade was on sale for $249. Had some Christmas money to spend so out of pocket I paid maybe $125. This thing is a beast and worth my money if you ask me. I didn’t use the heat sink that comes with the SSD and instead opted to get the MHQJRH M.2 2280 SSD Heatsink, Double Sided Heat Sink With Thermal Silicone Pad For PC/PS5. The only part that was difficult was putting the heatsink and SSD together and installing it into the PS5 and even that isn’t very difficult. There are a lot of how to videos online and even on Amazon. The heatsink I mentioned has a video of someone installing that heat sink with a SSD and I went off that. Worked like a charm and I was able to install it my first try. When you boot your PS5 your prompted with a message saying you have a M.2 SSD and it needs to be formatted. I formatted it and I was given a read speed of 6270. Which is 700 more than the SSD on your PS5 motherboard. When I went to settings and checked the storage it was there with my external hard drive and it said I had 2.05TB free. Good to see that you actually get 2TB and a tad bit more. First thing I did was transfer games from SSD to SSD. I took Horizon Zero Dawn moved it from internal to the newly installed SSD and it transferred in 10 seconds. No joke 10 seconds. Than I took The Uncharted Collection from my external hard drive and transferred it to the new SSD that one took a bit longer due to the external not being no where near as fast as a SSD but even that took about 7-10 minutes. Last I took three games from my library Hollow Knight, Darksiders 3 and Far Cry 6 and installed them(not transfer actually install from scratch) and those three games took about 20 minutes tops. That being said this is a affordable SSD and it is legit in speed. I played Horizon Zero Dawn and Far Cry 6 and load times were identical to the mother board SSD. Can’t complain I’m a happy camper with my purchase. I now have the internal SSD of 667GB with a 2TB extra storage installed along with a external hard drive giving me 4.6TB of space. Which I personally think is more than enough to last the PS5 generation. That being said do yourself a favor and get this product it’s worth every penny if you ask me. Hardest part is the installation process but even than, it’s not that difficult.

I bought this at prime day. The speed is fast. I am planning to replace the main 1 TB with this 4GB on my Rog Strix gaming laptop to make it 6 TB on my total storage. I put it on my 10Gbps external usb c enclosure and clone my main nvme to this nvme. It only took few minutes to get it done. I haven't install it directly on my laptop yet because I still need to resize the original partition from mere 500G to 3.8TB with left over for other GPT partitions. I probably need to buy another 4TB just for a single Linux partition. I don't like dual boot which fail once in a while due to Windows update. So I am going to boot to different partition using by using bios selection. It is a bit hassle but safer. I have multiple virtual OSes running within Windows but a full fledge Linux is always the best.

    Capacity: 1TBStyle: [S70 Blade] 7400/6800MB/sVerified Purchase
My 1TB Gammix S70 Blade was installed in new build as the boot drive; Windows 10 installed easily, programs & files transferred with no problems; it ran perfectly for about 2 weeks. Then, on 04/05/2022, my S70 "disappeared" overnight while the computer was in sleep mode.

Now (after installing a different m.2 SSD, Windows 10 again, and transferring all my files), ADATA SSD Toolbox sees the S70 drive as "MN-5236"; indicates firmware is latest version; total bytes written as 0.00TB. Windows 10 sees it as "Unknown"; 2.0 GB unallocated; not initialized. My BIOS sees it a 2.0 GB and "Unknown".

By the time I got my system back up and running, the Amazon 30 day return window was past. I followed, as best I could, the Amazon Customer Service directions to submit a claim to Adata on their website. I have attempted to submit that claim dozens of times over the last 2-3 weeks. At first, I just thought their site was having repairs or temporary problems. It would say an "error" was encountered and to "try again later". To Amazon's discredit, they have not followed up as they promised and they are unavailable to help any further!

The S70 worked perfectly until it just "disappeared"; the product MAY, if you get one without a problem, be a decent SSD, but the seller, Adata, is not in the business of backing their product when there IS a problem; it is as if they are hiding! I strongly urge anyone considering the S70 Blade to pay a bit more and stick with a company that thinks enough of their name to at least be available to deal with customer warranty issues. Further, be advised not to count on Amazon for any meaningful assistance beyond the 30 day return window; they appear to be hiding, too. (I bought my replacement SSD from Best Buy at a physical store!)

I got this for my husband for Xmas. It was a great buy in my opinion. The hardest part is getting the cover off the PS5 to install it. Instructions were very clear and easy to do. Be sure to have sturdy hands when installing this. Works great and we have lots on the storage already. The price was good too. Watch for sales. We don't need alot of storage but for what we needed this is absolutely perfect
