My Nettop computer has Intel GMA 950 onboard graphics. I was experiencing poor quality video with a Dell 19 inch widescreen monitor. The text was blurred and it had some flickering at 1440x900 resolution. I tried everything to adjust it with no luck. This monitor also had video problems with a Mac using GMA 950 graphics. My Nettop only has 1 PCI slot, so I gave this card a shot. Wow, what an improvement! Both Digital and Analog outputs look great. It works great with Aero and it improved the Windows Experience Index for Aero from 2.0 to 2.5 with Windows 7. Windows 7 automatically detected it and I didn't have to do a Google search for missing drivers. The system seems more responsive now, maybe because of the GPU and extra 256mb of video ram? This card has lots of plus's: Low price, great video quality, DVI and VGA output, 256mb RAM, no noisy fan, it fits in a PCI slot, S video output and it works with dual screens too. The specs say it needs a 300 watt power supply, but I'm using it with a 250 watt power supply no problem. This thing works great as a budget video card upgrade. I agree with the other reviewers and give it 5 stars. I ordered this card from Amazon instead of Newegg because the shipping was cheaper.

the seller is very good and trustful, even i have to return this video card due to display problem.

ADDED on 1/21/2012:

"i also have to edit and add THE WORST UPS PICKUP SERVICE IN THE WORLD. they only showed up once and i missed it, but claimed they did twice (even amazon.com assured me that their record only showed one pickup) .it's a lie, because since missed the pickup, i've become a house-arrested guy awaiting UPS to show up again, they never did. i called their 800 number so many times, repeat my request again and again, talked to so many so-called customer service people, male and female, asked me to hold, forced me to listen to their elevator music so many times and so long, then there would become another person asking me to repeat the tracking number, and again gave me a pick time. one of their people even called me back to confirm that they would pick up the next day. but it never carried out.

this is the worst and the most lousy mail service in the world operated by a bunch liars and morons, so irresponsible and so unprofessional. these incidents are not made up but by my numerous first-hand experiences with UPS. i strongly suggest that amazon.com to seek out a better mail service organization that could match up amazon.com's wonderful reputation.

the package is still on my front porch with new dust layers every day. my return deadline is 1/30/12. how come amazon.com could be so sure by saying RETURNS ARE EASY?"

OLD REVIEW:
the card only worked for the old machine to play 3d screensavers like misty, bubbles...before that, only allowed 'blank' as screensaver.
other than that, couldn't play anything normally, got white screens, frozen player screen. anything video just showed section by section images, if the movie images moved fast horizontally, flashing appeared. most weird was that audio sound was faster than the video. sometimes with frozen image on screen but the audio proceeded without delays.
although this turned out to be a very funny card, seemed to be not compatible with the old hp pavilion a1240n media center pc, but i would still blame the pc itself instead of this card. this hp pavilion is not good, the on board video display adapter turned all the icons on the monitor screen flat horizontally, there are doodlu-doodlu grumbling noises constantly coming out when processing, any new instruction by the mouse pointer would cause the noises gone crazy during processing.

2 gb memory upgrade seems to be useless at all, upgraded to wins 7 seems making everything worse than when the os was windows xp pro sp3. i don't want to invest more money on this old horse. why spend and waste more money on it instead buying a uptodate new pc?

again, i don't blame this pci card and i still like this seller very much, even i already applied merchandise return request last night.

This videocard was recognized by my old-type computer running Windows 7 right upon hooking up the videocard. Big advantage of this card - it is SILENT! Applications run noticeably faster than with the previous card (8400 type), which had to go because of BIG issues with the fan (eventually it just stopped working).
The look of the picture seems to have somewhat less color saturation and variety (juiciness), but I think it is a minor issue compared to all the troubles I had with the envidia 8400 card that had a fan.
In conclusion, I would recommend this card to anyone.

I purchased a Sunjoy gazebo 4 years ago and had to replace the canopy twice. The customer service department is horrendous. They don't back up their products and are nasty when talking to you. Responses are very slow and I am still waiting for a reply to two e-mails for the past 10 days. I don't recommend Sunjoy products. Much better products are out there.

I did much research over two days to find the best card for a PCI Standard bus PC and found a number of reviews stating this was the best. There is much discussion whether or not these older PC's can even utilize anything over 128Mb cards but with so many good reviews, I purchased this one. The consensus is that the 512's are a waste of money. Someone stated in another review that you have to disable the old card first. You do it as follows: Start, Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager, left click on the "cross" to the right of Display Adapters, right click on Graphics Controller (or it will be the only one listed), left click "disable," turn off PC, install new card, start PC, PC should recognize new hardware, download new software, update new software (there's new drivers since the 5/08 ones on the disc), go back to device manager and uninstall the old card if you want.
Before I did this the new card would not take, and all I got was a black screen upon rebooting the PC. I had to reinstall the old card and do the above procedure before I could install the new one and get it to work. Anyway the card works great, vivid colors, ok 3D graphics, more detail as advertised, and I can play all the non high end games I want. No more jerking performance, freezing up and crashing of games. This is great for the average person with only a PCI standard bus. It makes the PC acceptable. Whereas before, the old card gave barely minimal graphic performance.
