    This is a very good lens - notwithstanding the limitations of any zoom lens, this offers good brightness across the focal range, very reasonable size and acceptable sharpness. Maybe overpriced for what it is (but all Sony lenses seem to suffer from that!), but its flexibility, portability and range make it a brilliant tool - particularly for landscape photography. I have noticed some focussing issues in low light, but apart from that it is difficult to fault.

    Ich filme seit Jahren hobbymäßig. Urlaube, Feiern, kleine Konzerte etc. Die letzten Jahre mit Systemkameras und aktuell mit einer Sony Alpha 6300 in 4K. Das Sony-Kitobjektiv (16 -50mm) macht einen guten Job, jedoch wollte ich mehr Weitwinkel und ich schaute mich auf dem Markt nach etwas Neuem um. Das neue Weitwinkelobjektiv sollte nicht zu groß sein und einen Bildstabilisator haben, denn die Sony Alpha 6300 hat keinen integrierten und ohne Bildstabilisator erhält man ständig kleine und große Ruckler in den Aufnahmen, die nerven. Da nutzen das beste Equipment und das schönste Bild nichts. Da der Markt für meine Wünsche nicht viel hergibt, stieß ich schnell auf das Sony SEL1018. Die erste Zeit zögerte ich aufgrund des hohen Preises mit dem Kauf, als es dann bei Amazon im Angebot war, schlug ich zu.

    Bereits am nächsten Tag hielt ich das neue Objektiv in Händen und ich brachte es an die Sony Alpha 6300 an. Vom Handling her passt es hervorragend an die Sony Alpha 6300 - nicht zu groß, nicht zu klein. Die ersten Einstellungen wurden schnell erledigt und ich drehte gleich einige Filmchen in Innenräumen und unter freiem Himmel. Nun war ich gespannt, wie das Bildmaterial am Mac aussah und ich staunte nicht schlecht. Erstens war da diese neue grandiose Bildwirkung von 10mm(Äquivalent zu 15mm bei Kleinbild). Wow - das hatte ich nicht erwartet. Es ist sehr viel auf jedem Bild zu sehen und selbst, wenn man die Kamera auf sich selbst richtet, ist um einen herum noch viel zu sehen. Perfekt für Gruppenselfies! Zweitens halten sich die Verzeichnungen für so einen Bildwinkel in Grenzen und das freut mich, denn heftige Verzerrungen waren meine größte Befürchtung. Drittens bringt der Stabilisator eine Menge Ruhe ins Bild. Und viertens - durchgängig sehr gute Schärfe, satte und deutliche Farben und ein grandioser Kontrastumfang.

    Ein kleiner Exkurs zum Fotografieren mit diesem Objektiv. Ich habe damit selbstverständlich auch Fotos gemacht. Man sollte jedoch wissen, dass ein Objektiv für ein 24 Megapixel-Foto anderes leisten muss als für ein 4K-Video mit - einfach ausgedrückt - 8 Megapixel. Das Sony SEL1018 an der Sony Alpha 6300 für Fotos würde ich als gut bis sehr gut bewerten. Schärfe, Farben und Kontrastumfang sind solide, jedoch sind Randundschärfen bei bestimmten Blenden nicht zu leugnen. Bei der Motivwahl sollte man allerdings vorsichtig sein, denn der Blickwinkel ist schon extrem. Als kleines Experiment habe ich das Sony SEL1018 an eine Sony A7II angeschlossen. Ich hörte viel darüber, dass man Sony APS-C E-Mount Objektive durchaus an Sony FE-Vollformat-Kameras nutzen könne. Na ja, die Qualität der Bilder hat mich nicht begeistert. Kein Vergleich von Bildern, die direkt mit Sony FE-Linsen an der Sony A7II gemacht wurden - egal ob im Crop-Modus oder im Vollformat-Modus. APS-C E-Mount Objektive an Sony Vollformat sind für mich in Zukunft nur ein Notlösung. Anders herum übrigens genau so.

    Als Fazit bleibt, dass die Linse grandios für Filmer mit einer Sony APS-C-Kamera ist und das man damit an APS-C-Kameras auch gute Fotos machen kann.
