Last year I transitioned from the expensive glass screen protectors to this less expensive one. It was on my iPhone 7 and I found it to be just as good as the more expensive brands. So when I ordered my iPhone X I came back to this brand. The plastic guide was a genius idea. I'm OCD and always labor over getting my screen protectors perfectly situated. I always order extras because I know I'll go through several. However, these protectors came with a guide that made my life SO MUCH easier. One screen protector perfectly centered, and on the first try!. By far my easiest screen protector installation ever!

I read a few reviews that complained about the protector not going "all the way to the edge of the screen," and would like to address this issue. Normally I don't comment on other reviewers complaints, but I feel compelled to on this one. What you have to remember is that glass doesn't bend. Despite the edge to edge design of this gorgeous phone, there is a curve to the outer edge of the screen. Because of this the protector MUST end before it gets to this curve or the protector wouldn't seal around all the edges. I think as technology advances we tend to think it should be able to do everything. That just isn't possible and I think we need to start looking at things with an eye more towards reality versus what we want.

Overall, I think these are well worth their cost. I've used the expensive ones and wasn't any happier using them, just poorer. I can also attest to the durability of this product. I have an issue where my hands periodically just lose their grip and anything I'm holding hits the floor. When I had this protector on my iPhone 7 my phone hit the floor at MINIMUM half a dozen times a day, and my screen protector NEVER cracked. The only time I had an issue was when my cat decided to taste test the corner of my phone and her teeth cracked the corner of the protector. But it did its job in protecting my phone screen so I was okay with that. Remember folks, reality is the key. Unless something seriously changes I can't see being anything less than happy with these.

They’ve done their part, now you have to do yours

The makers of this product have done everything they can to help you get a first class screen protector on your phone: the tray, the wipes and dust remover, the screen itself. The problem (if you want to call it that) is that you have to be up to the task. When you’re installing the screen, you have to be OBSESSIVE about getting the screen clean, totally, pristinely clean, and then equally focused on getting the protector lined up in exactly the right place. My track record was mixed: the first one I did very well, on my phone. Perfect placement, dust free, a seamless installation. Then I moved to my wife’s. You know how this went. I totally hosed the first one—somehow, a piece of dust or something got under the screen, and though I got everything else right, there was no way she was going to live with this white spot and its bubble of air. Luckily, I had one more screen in the kit, so I tried again. And I got this one really, really close, I swear. No dust specks, but my alignment was very slightly off and there’s just a little air space at the edge on one corner, and my wife is being very game about the whole thing, but somehow I know I’m going to be trying again. Buy this product; it’s really well made. But for god’s sake, take your time and get the installation right.

I originally had the invisiglass protector from the Apple store. After a week and a half, and for no apparent reason, that protector had gotten large cracks, but then the Apple store replaced it for free. However, after only another two days, I had the same problem, and after reading reviews on the Apple website, this seems to be a very common issue.

I’ve had the TechMatt protector on my phone for almost 2 weeks now, and still no issues. The application process was easy enough. I didn’t manage to get 100% if the dust out from the edge of the screen before application, so I have a few very minor imperfections. Also, I didn’t perfectly align the protector using the provided tool, but it’s still good enough. I felt it better to keep the two spares in case I break the protector since I don’t even notice these two minor application flaws.

This is a great product, from what I can tell so far. The price is amazing, and the quality is also great. If I had applied the protector more carefully, there would be no way to tell this protector apart from the very overpriced one from the Apple store, aside from the fact that this protector doesn’t seem to spontaneously break of course .

Definitely recommend this product.
