I really do love how you get the option to start right back at the exact battle you just died from instead of just starting from the save point and you can also adjust equipment before trying the battle again. I like how unique the DMW is also during battles which is a slot machine that determines all kinds of things like no MP cost and summons, and a whole list of things.
I love the music and the voice acting is actually pretty good. The only voice that actually I wish could be turned off is "activating combat mode" and "conflict resolved" for every battle. I also wish we got the option to use the original voice actor for Zack. I never played the original but I heard a clip and the original is definitely better but I'm still loving this game.
I really love the backstory to my second favorite FF game, especially when Zack and Aerith meet, even though not only do I want Cloud and Aerith together but in VII/VII Remake, Cloud and Aerith are the cannon couple. It's still nice to see the backstory of Zack and Aerith. Also very interesting to see backstory on Sephiroth.
The graphics are beautiful on Switch too. If you're a fan of FF and especially FFVII, or even just a fan of action RPG's, I highly recommend this game!
The game systems have been updated and modernized as well, too, so playing through the game has been a ton of fun.
While I'd recommend playing the original FF7 before getting into this one, I still can highly recommend this game for both new and old friends--even on the Switch!
The only negative I can think of is that the old voice actor (in the original Crisis Core for PSP) for the main character, Zack Fair, was better in my opinion. The new one isn't bad--just not as good as the old one.
