This is a legit ps5 controller and does everything the controller that comes with the ps5 does. I will note the battery life on these need some work. Apparently this is a known issue in the community but just an FYI incase you don’t know. Other than that it works great, feels great, & haptic feedback is perfect. Not sure if it’s just myself and couple friends, but we’ve all accidentally hit the center PS button multiple times while gaming. Idk if that’s a design issue or an us issue.

I know that my Xbox friends love that controllers from these last three generations are interchangeable, and I appreciate that, because there are many folks who can't afford to slap down $200-300 for extra controllers each generation.

But if you can, these are the most exciting controller news in well over a decade. The shape, size and weight feel perfect in my hands and all my kids' and friends' hands--even my friend with big meathooks who usually complains about the size of PS controllers.

If you don't care about haptics, we can still be friends, but if that's something that gets your heart going, it's one of the coolest things ever. Astro's Playroom is a nostalgic experience that showcases the haptics perfectly, but Horizon Forbidden West also makes great use of them, and a lot of other games dabble. I hope that more and more games this generation explore that space, because it adds a textural dimension to gaming that connects your body to what's happening on-screen.

Battery life is okay but not great with all the settings turned on and cranked up. If you need to mollify them to extend the life, it's still very satisfying, but they charge pretty quickly, so I say turn it up to 11 and let the system absorb you into its warmth. I still get four to six hours out of a charge, and while I'm not here to tell you not to game so much, that's plenty playtime before you move onto something productive.
