Product Description

This 10-pack of GoToTags Heavy Duty On-Metal NFC Tags features a ferrite layer to allow for uninterupted functionality when placed on metal, aluminum, or electronic surfaces. With a durable and waterproof ABS plastic housing a fast and reliable NTAG213 chip with 144 bytes of usable memory, these tags are great for industrial and/or outdoor applications. A 3M adhesive backing as well as a 5 mm center hole, means these tokens can be adhered to or drilled onto a surface. This particular NFC tag model is commonly used for security access checkpoints as it can be easily mounted to metal-framed doorways. Tags come blank and are read/write ready -- once written, data can be "locked" so that the tag is read-only. If an NFC tag is "locked" it cannot be unlocked.

Compatible with both iPhone and Android devices.

I bought some other standard NFC tags before these and they wouldn't read through my plastic/TPU case, even on a wood table. These NFC tags work great through the case, and I tried to put them on metal just to see if they would actually read and they do.

I was unable to write more than 137 bytes to a tag (using NFC Tools PRO). This limits me to performing about 7 basic system tasks on a tag, such as the tag I have set up in my car to turn notification volume up, alarm volume down, media volume up, wifi off, bluetooth on, brightness to 200, and open spotify at 131 bytes (highly variable size based on task you're doing). That maxes out a tag as there is no function I could find that takes only 6 bytes. They have a very short, full-contact only working distance. They work VERY well on metal compared to other tags I have tried which claim the same. They are thick, good adhesive for indoor use, I have not tried outdoors. Overall a fine chip but I was unable to use all of the usable space that was advertised for the chip (137 vs 144).
