How to Get Sh*t Done: Why Women Need to Stop Doing Everything So They Can Achieve Anything Audible Audiobook – Unabridged

4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 264 ratings

Erin Falconer, editor in chief and co-owner of the highly respected self-improvement site Pick the Brain (with over 1.8 million monthly page views), shows overscheduled, overwhelmed women how to do less so that they can achieve more.

Women live in a state of constant guilt: that we're not doing enough, that we're not good enough, that we can't keep up. If we're not climbing the corporate ladder, building our side hustle, preparing home-cooked meals, tucking the kids in at night, meditating daily, and scheduling playdates, date nights, and girls' nights every week, we feel like we're not living our best lives. Yet traditional productivity books - written by men - barely touch the tangle of cultural pressures that women feel when facing down a to-do list.

Finally, in the first productivity book by a woman in a decade, Erin Falconer will show you how to do less - a lot less. In fact, How to Get Sh*t Done will teach you how to zero in on the three areas of your life where you want to excel, and then it will show you how to offload, outsource, or just stop giving a damn about the rest. As the founder of two technology start-ups and one of Refinery29's Top 10 Women Changing the Digital Landscape for Good, Erin has seen what happens when women chase an outdated, patriarchal model of productivity, and in How to Get Sh*t Done she shows how even the most perfectionistic among us can tap in to our inner free spirit and learn to feel like badasses rather than drudges.

Packed with real-life advice, honest stories from Erin's successful career, and dozens of actionable resources, How to Get Sh*t Done will forever reframe productivity so that you can stop doing everything for everyone and start doing what matters to you.

Book delivered with wrinkled pages and it has some type of liquid or oil all over top quarter of book. On some pages a blue dye is running through.

Erin Falconer really contextualizes where we are as women in our cultural and political climate. Her book lends a broader perspective for ourselves, and casts a greater vision for what's possible and what it means to "successfully" approach our unique opportunities. This is a book is not a to-do list so much as it is a hopeful reminder. Falconer provides a lot of room for self-evaluation and reflection in an encouraging effort to guide us in aligning our outcomes to our values. This has been a great first read for the new year. It is a point of reference that has already drastically shifted my approach to things in just one month, and I am excited for the accountability it will provide me in the months to come. I highly recommend.

This is such a well done book that shares a REAL insight into the authors highs and lows in entrepreneurship... it’s really refreshing, makes it relatable. The tools that the author provides to help get to the core of your *real* productivity are amazing. It’s helped me organize my days and stay inspired to work on my “dream job and life” WITHOUT burning out or doing too much. HIGHLY recommend.

Great read overall. Loved the stories and connective writing. Women have a very specific set of challenges personally and professionally and the way Erin brings it full circle is helpful to any ambitious female trying to figure out how to get it all done. Essential read for anyone trying to "have it all" - it shows you to only way to get it done, is to focus!

Had some great ideas. I didn’t give it 5 stars because I have another system I already implemented and I feel is better but doesn’t mean the systems won’t work for others. Was written well and I am definitely interested in her blog.

I’m a personal trainer , and I’m always looking for ways to change up my clients workouts with minimal equipment.

I absolutely love this product. It makes every exercise feel completely different because of the grip and the lever aspects.. it works great for any exercise you can possibly imagine doing .

I tried using it for sumo deadlifts with a 100lbs dB and it worked great.

Other than that, I used it for overhead presses, squats, floor press, rows, carried etc

Options are limitless

Highly highly recommended !

This is not feminist. Success for this writer was persistence and a lot of luck. This a a great read for shifting your focus to develop a plan that fits our own defined wants. This is practical advise for working women with families and personal values. This is an easy read that has
Some tips that anyone can put into practice to help manage hectic days. Lean In was written by elites with too much money and free time. This is not pure productivity, more like !lessons learned and practical tips. Keep reading, keep sharing. If you read a book that you are not a big fan of, then consider not leaving a review. No one should write a negative review that is false. Just my note on the comment of "a way for the author to push feminism and complain." if you are tired of doing what everyone expects, with zero time left for you, read or listen to this book. The stories and practical tips will help shift your focus and inspire action.

Really good advice about how to decide what matters and create your own personal productivity plan. I read a lot about productivity, but this book feels the most useful in creating something that will actually lead to a satisfying life of better work and more time on the things I care about. Highly recommended.
